Academy at King Edward

I went to this school for 7 years and all they do is set u back I had a dyslexia and they put me at grade 6 math when I was in grade 8 it didn't add up. so when I left for my new school I was so set back I would not recommend going here unless u wanna have a stressful high school experience. the teachers also suck.

Love this old neighborhood. This school is well maintained and I hope that stays that way. Have a lot of family go through this school as students and educai staff. Beautiful early 20th century architecture.

The Academy at King Edward is a specialized school with a focus on literacy and numeracy for students with learning disabilities. The teachers teach the student strategies for learning and organization to help them close the gap they experience in academics. The focus at the school is math and language arts. It also provides the other core subjects (science, social studies, health, physical education) as well as a variety of options. Some of these options include: foods, leadership, fitness, guitar, art etc.I am currently teacher at The Academy at King Edward, high performance track and field athlete and Olympic hopeful. I teach math, science, fitness and physical education at the school. I work towards providing a strong fitness and physical education program for the students that focuses on building physical literacy. Our fitness center at the school is newly renovated with great equipment suited for the junior high age group. As the fitness teacher I provide students with the tools to gain confidence and competence in a weight room.Overall the school provides a safe and caring environment for students to learn and grow!

Academy was an ok school at sometimes but speaking from past bad experiences with the kids being toxic and mean. Some of the teachers were bias and treated other kids better then others which isn't really that good and the school isn't that organized and they rush you with so many things they really shouldn't. So this being my honest opinion i didn't really like the school all that well.

My son is in the gr 2-3 split class,we come from the NE side. It has changed his life,he was just being pushed through the public school b4 we forced them to see his issues, landing us a place in king edward academy.He is reading and learning. most of all he respects himself and doesnt have the poor self esteem he had in his other school. We are so grateful for all his hard working and engaging teachers,and the stratagies program.

This school helps you learn very good strategies for all subjects and the teacher are mostly very nice and patient. There are problems with a hand full of students (aggressiveness, vaping, etc.)

The school has not given us a good experience but that is our opinion. My son doesn’t feel happy and he doesn’t feel it’s fair to him and feels like the school should try harder to make it feel like a regular school.Opinion the school made my son take down his personal account and made others take there reviews off of there personal account about how he felt about the school and it wasn’t even bad it was just stars. After the school braided the other grade to give a good review.Wait you’re probably thinking well he doesn’t need to put it up well it was his opinion and how he felt to help the school learn from there mistakes and change without thinking let’s take this down.Why my son doesn’t like the school. My son thinks the school is not fare and think the school should deal with problems better and punish the students properly. Also he doesn’t like the school for other reasons and that’s okay

I love the Academy! All the teachers are passionate and use research-based teaching practices to closes students' academic gaps. Also, we have the nicest students - I am constantly amazed by their grit, excitement, and desire to learn. I am proud to be a teacher at the Academy.

It is a pleasure to work with a caring, collaborative and highly committed staff that uses research-based practices to support students with learning disabilities. We also have wonderful students that we look forward to working with daily by providing them with strategies for finding success in school and beyond.

Academy at King Edward is the best place to work. Teachers work extremely hard to ensure students are meeting and reaching their goals.And our students are amazing!
