Following our move from Boston (MA) back to Canada this summer and the movers' damaging&breaking several irreplacable items (e.g., 19th-century Biedermeier chairs, marble statue, 19th-century Austrian credenza marble top) we found New Creations Thornhill online and Johan of New Creations Thornhill came to our condo to look at the damage after which he sent us a quote. I recently had an extensive wood flooring replacement undertaken in my condo by my insurance company following a flood. They packed up and moved all of my furniture out of the way so the work could be done, and put everything back afterwards. Although they were careful, there were inevitably some mishaps which resulted in damage to some of my furniture and even the new floor—some gouges, scratches, and even a bit of white paint plus a hole put in a blue fabric sofa.The insurance company sent Johan from New Creations to attend to all of this, and what an amazing job he did! He approaches his work with care and creativity, and is truly an artisan. He restored a small table to look like new, he fixed a deep gouge in the top of an antique dresser so well that I can’t even see where it was damaged, he invisibly mended a small hole in a corner of the sofa and took away the paint smear. He also repaired some minor damage to the new flooring in the form of scrapes and dents...all of this without having to take anything away.After seeing how well he did with all of this I asked him to work on a couple of other projects privately for me, and have been very pleased with the results. I would add that on top of his skill in restoring things to their like new condition, he was super well organized, punctual, respectful of the building staff, and a delight to have working here. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again or to recommend him to anyone else needing repairs. He can do things I wouldn't have considered possible.
