Guelph Lake Conservation Area
We went there on a whim!! But the place was incredible. First of all the charge for a day is $8 per person which is good. Plus they already have started kayak rides there. And because the lake is way big than laurel or shade's mills, it's really good to just stay in the middle of the lake in kayak with you legs in the cold water. Such a wonderful experience, a place for a getaway.

Waited forever to pay. Staff was young, polite and I guess went through everything as quickly as possible, but so many questions! They knew I was part of a large group so surely some of it could have been taken care of in advance. Again, they were polite and perfectly nice, it just took almost 30 minutes to park, wait and pay. When I left the park, I could display my pass and they waved me through without stopping - thanks!Overall, park was nice. Our area was NOT ready for us for several hours, inducing stress for our organizer. It was reasonably clean. We had porta potties on our site, and I was grateful.I was shocked by the volume of people who visited for day activities. I guess that's a good thing, and if I want fewer people I'll travel father from town.I'll return if invited.

Went camping for the first time to Guelph Lake Conservation and it was huge park. The camping site was large and had a fire pit and picnic table with trees for shade. There are good size beaches which do get busy on the weekends. Lots of hiking trails, childrens playground, boat launches, perfect lake for kayaking and fishing. The washrooms were ok but could be better. There is also a water dam to walk to and look at. Firewood was a good price and nice and dry.

Guelph Lake Conservation Area is a hidden gem! I love spending time here with family and friends. The lake is beautiful, and the surrounding nature is simply breathtaking. We enjoyed swimming in the clean and refreshing lake, and the sandy beach was great for sunbathing and building sandcastles. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the facilities are well-maintained. It's a perfect getaway for outdoor enthusiasts, and I highly recommend visiting this serene and picturesque conservation area.

It is a very beautiful place for a picnic and relaxing and daylong activities. Water is very clean and perfect for kayaking in summer. They also have some adventurous trail. Boating pricing is decent. You also need day pass per person while entering the conservation area.

Liked the beach and the water. The main beach is good to enjoy your free time and also do some fun water sports. We did kayaking and it really was hard to get to the beach fighting the strong current! A must go place for newcomers in Guelph.N.B. no lifeguards are there, so stay safe if you do not know swimming.

Not a bad place but the rowing club causing wakes because they say they own the lake. They flipped me in my kayak due to the wake. The rowers don't look and will hit you. Go before 8 am if you want a peaceful time on the water.

I went there for camping on Canada Day long weekend. Meadowvale camping sight. No washroom at Meadow area. Not even portable washroom. My camping area number was 174. Every time I needed to go to washroom, I had to drive to Upper Parking Area where washrooms were available, even at the middle of the night. A lot of mosquitoes & insects there.Meadowvale area was wrong choice for camping. Upper parking area was good for camping because the camping spaces were wide open & near the washroom. Campfire, Cooking on BBQ stove, playing music were allowed, that's the good thing. Island beach was quieter than the main beach. At moonlit night, the beach looked awesome & magical. The authority charged quite large sum of money for camping. From July 2 ( at 2:00pm) to July 4 ( until 12:00 pm), Sunday noon to Tuesday noon, I paid 107 CAD. Addition Car fee is 16 CAD per car. Guelph lake is man made lake & shallow. Good & safe for boating & swimming. They should build changing rooms & more washrooms at the main beach because the beach is overly crowded at summer time. One month ago, I also went there (day visit) & paid 16 CAD entrance fee so you need to go there early. Otherwise you can't roam the entire conversation area within one day. Good for picnic, family friendly environment.
