Garry's Heating

Service tech was good, however I was disappointed at the inability to dispose of my filter, and the lack of follow up when I sent a follow up email about this. I like to support local and believe Garry’s Heating has a good reputation. So I booked to have the ducts cleaned at my home and our rental property. The gentleman did a good job and was pleasant, however he was unable to take our super large filter for our rental with him because he had “the small truck”. So I waited until he came to do the second property, hoping he’d have the “big truck” this time. No luck. I’ve never had this happen as the companies we have hired in the past just take the filter and any garbage with them so I didn’t even know this wasn’t an option. You might be thinking, well, you need to dispose of it every few months, what’s the big deal? Well because these are large, they don’t fit in our refuse bins. And because of that, I coordinate collecting extra garbage, glass and other things that need to go to the eco station at the same time. Which I had done, just two weeks before. I was not anticipating it would need to be changed so soon, but the tech recommended it, and I agreed with him, not knowing I’d need to coordinate another trip to the eco station while they are open which is challenging as I can only go on weekends due to woke, there are line ups to get in and it ends up eating up a significant chunk of your day. Hence why I save stuff up. To coordinate another trip just for one filter, is quite inconvenient. I also feel like it’s unfair that some customers can have their filters disposed of and others can’t. I spent over $800 getting services at two properties and felt it’s a bit silly that they can’t take ONE filter with them. I expressed this in an email to the company but received zero reply. This is the most disappointing that they couldn’t even reply. No explanation as to why some customers get this service and others don’t. No “I’m sorry you had a bad experience we’d like to make it right”, just radio silence. Unfortunately now even though the service tech was good, I will not be giving them my business due to something very small (that makes a big difference to me) and lack of reply.

Our family has dealt with Garry’s for years now and we would not go anywhere else, can not recommend them enough.
