I previously gave this restaurant 5 stars. I unfortunately have to amend my rating. Came here to grab two rolls. I asked for roe and got sesame seeds. Then while eating it I found that the taste was very off. Looks like they served me rotten avocado. I won't be back here again. Such a shame. I used to love it here.

I arrived a little later than usually do, right at 11:30pm, and they told me they are closed. Why would you be open to 12am or 1am some days if your not serving anything. Disappointing. Change your hours if you want to close earlier or make excuses.*Edit March 29th 2023, called at 10:50pm and 10.55pm again, not answering phone calls anymore. Checked their website to order online and it says not taking orders.Service 0/5Slushs 4.5/5Food 3.5/5

FOOD POISONING WARNING. Used to be good a couple years ago before the owners changed from the white man. Miss him and the old quality this place used to convey. Went here with my Vietnamese friend last year and she told me they were saying rude things about us. Most recently 3 days ago I went and Me and my friend ordered a roll each. Falling apart can’t even pick them up. We live together and eat the same things. Only different thing was I ordered chicken on that roll of mine and they didn’t. Next day I have experienced the worst food poising ever in my life losing 6 lbs in water weight. I’m just recovering now and am absolutely unable to do anything as my body is still recovering. Do not go here they clearly do not care to serve customers old chicken, which is poisonous. Clearly they do not care about that. Never going here again. Food quality has gone down. Rolls have barely any of the protein you select and prices have gone up significantly. I used to love this place. Sushi on Fennell is my go to for takeout sushi now. Charlie’s now charges extra for sauces that aren’t soy sauce now. You used to be able to pick which dipping sauce you want, now if you choose something that isn’t soy sauce it’s extra. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Sushi rolls: 7 / 10Good value sushi for the price. The custom rolls are great. My favourite has salmon, tuna, shrimp tempura, avocado, and roe. A custom roll is between $5 and $9. The fish was fresh and the portion size was fair. The rolls were not closed properly, however, and were very loose. Recommended for a fair priced and late night sushi spot on the Hamilton mountain.

I was looking for a bubble tea place after 11pm and was pleasantly surprised to find this place tucked away in one of the many small plazas on Upper James.The staff answered my questions about modifications to drinks, the service was speedy and my order was accurate. I'll definitely be visiting here again.

Never ordering from here again! The food quality was really poor. I ordered it from Door Dash cause it was in the top places to order from, not sure why!? The spring rolls were not crispy and so tiny, plus no sauce included to dip, I had shrimp tempura and no tempura sauce and it was horrible batter on it! The rice bowl had no flavour or sauce, I had to add my own soy sauce into it. Just extremely disappointed in my meal and wish I never wasted my money on this. Disgrace to Asian food and I’m Asian.

1 Tiny Spicy Tuna Roll (I believe was made with White Tuna), 1 Tiny California Roll, (you can ask for free Sesame Seeds & Caviar on both rolls), and 2 Large Matcha Milk Teas with Tapioca in both = 1 Dollar DiscountTiny-Tasty portions…for a Tiny Price…and a Tiny TipJust something - SMALL - to enjoy when you’re NOT hungry and just want a tiny little bite to eat while you’re out at night*** Their Main Display Store Sign was not lit up, however they do have an OPEN sign that is visible upon their window.This is the kind of place where you call ahead for a pickup order and drive away… NOT the kind of place to stay and eat.
