Very caring vet hospital. Took amazing care of our dogs while they were being fixed. Made sure to address my concerns, and did extra for us to ensure piece of mind. They truly have the animals health and care as top priority. Love the staff :)

I brought my boy Bruiser in for a follow up xray and ultrasound and once again Dr Short and her tech did an amazing and thorough job of taking the xrays, answering all my questions and explaining what she saw all while keeping my big guy as comfortable as possible. Would give a 10 stars if I could

We only have great things to say about our experience with the Wood Buffalo Small Animal Hospital! My husband and I have been taking our puppy, Mocha, to the WBSAH ever since we got her, and she has received nothing but the best care every time she’s there.The communication with this hospital has been great! They have always been kind and have been respectful and courteous (even when we change our appointment dates multiple times -lol). Their PetDesk App has been great for reminders and scheduling, and I’ve always received a phone call before and after appointments. Since we got Mocha in the year 2020, Covid procedures had to be put in place. The WBSAH staff described to us in detail what we needed to do and what to expect before we even arrived.The staff have always handled Mocha with care as if she were their own – never forcing her or being “rough” and always doing their best to make it a pleasant experience for her. We were so pleased and grateful to see that from the staff!VACCINATIONSWhen we took Mocha in for her first vaccinations, we were really nervous for her especially since (because of Covid) we couldn’t go in with her. To our joy, not only did the hospital staff guide us on how to make it a better experience for Mocha, but when she came out afterwards she was so happy and wanted to go back inside! Our second time getting vaccinations Mocha was more nervous to leave us than the first, and she even peed on multiple members of the staff, and they were all super kind and understanding about it.SURGERY (SPAY)Mocha’s surgery went SO well! The communication throughout the whole thing was exemplary. We were told and understood the risks before she went in, and they kept us updated as things progressed. We paid for extra blood-work and asked for the full results, and they happily gave us a copy of her FULL BLOODWORK – which was amazing! Her incision site was clean and we had no issues post-surgery. She barely even has a scar now – they did such a good job! They gave us all the post-surgery supplies and information we needed to properly care for her, and followed up with us by phone to make sure Mocha was doing well. They let us know they were always there if we had any concerns or questions and to just call in whenever we needed them.PHONE CALLS & PRICINGI have called in to this hospital to receive information on things that have concerned me, and they have given me great advice and directed me on what I can try before needing to schedule and pay for an appointment. They have been SUPER up-front about what will cost me money and how much I will be charged. We have found their pricing to be completely reasonable for the services we are getting.So thankful to have such an amazing animal hospital in town! Would recommend to anyone who loves their pet. Thank you WBSAH for all you’ve done for our puppy, and we will see you next time!

Honestly I have zero complaints about the in-person clinic visits. The Vets are great with my pets and I’m happy with them on all fronts. However, reception is absolutely terrible if you need to call in for any reason. Do not recommend calling if you don’t have a lot of extra time to waste. I have a pet who requires constant medication, so I have to call in for refills on a regular basis. I also call days in advance to get these filled. Every time, without fail, I am automatically put on hold without even given a chance to speak. Hold times average about 15-20 mins EVERY TIME and no one checks on you while you wait. One time I called, I waiting for “the standard hold time” and decide to physically go there to put in the refill request as I was in a hurry this day. I drove the 10 mins to the clinic without hanging up the phone. I was still on hold when I walked in the door, for what seemed like no apparent reason. The clinic only had one other person in the waiting room and there were 3 attendants at the front desk, only one of which seemed to be busy.

Always great attention to detail and visits are fairly on schedule, which means no long panicking dog in the waiting room. Vets are always a mix, so something I will get a vet who knows lots about Greyhounds and sometimes it is a vet who is unfamiliar with the breed.Overall very happy with the experience!

It’s Marie wanting to take the opportunity to thank WBSAH for the outstanding care and support for our four dogs over the years but particularly with our Copper who had been pretty sick over the last few months. We unfortunately had to say goodbye a week ago after making that ever so difficult decision. The staff were so amazing, supportive caring at this difficult time. See you shortly for annual check ups!!!
