I want to recommend YWCA Toronto to anyone looking for support throughout the job search process. The staff is friendly, understanding and professional. They helped me with building a nice resume and regularly forwarded job postings. One of those postings worked out for me. I am very excited and grateful to this wonderful group of people who helped me.

My review is predominantly aimed at new to CanadaFSW candidates similar to myself. After reading the mixed reviews online I did go to YWCA in person to see the services for myself and I was assigned Mrs. Tasleen as my career advisor and we had a lengthy conversation that day. She gave me an insight on the job market within Canada.Their services did help me get my initial job in Canada. I got it through a job fair organized by YWCA. I would like to remind people who come through FSW express entry that YWCA on most occasions won't have the exact job that suits your previous work experience. I'll suggest YWCA as perfect place you find your initial employment, it might not be from your core area where you worked back home country. To an extent people who are from core IT services would have it easier finding a job in Canada, but people from management and medical sector would have a tougher time. That's when you can attend job fairs organized by YWCA, hopefully get into a work from home opportunity or some opportunity available gain some Canadian experience and work on certifications or skills that would help you get back into your main area of expertise.(Would take some time)The initial couple of months after landing in Canada might be hard for most. YWCA can help you with an initial job for sure and they do also conduct online sessions on various topics from interview preparation to how to create a good resume. They even provide formal attires if you don't have any that you can use for your interviews if necessary.Like I said, some of you might not need it, but there would be many who are in need of these services.I had a personal session with Mrs. Tamara and she helped me alter my resume and I believe I have made it better0Mrs Tasleen and Tamara have been the two people I have personally interacted with at YWCA and they have helped me immensely.I would suggest newcomers to visit YWCA and see how things work out for you, do remember it is a free service. There is nothing much for you to loose as such from visiting the place and having a conversation.Do remember, it would be really beneficial to people who are new to Canada and trying to make sense of the system. The guidance would be an added advantage.

Form my soul, I am very grateful to Najiba Shekib, who is an employment specialist at YWCA Toronto. She always supports me and helped me build up my career. She is my mentor. As a newcomer at Canada, she supported me, and she introduced me to some of the programs from this organization, which helped me to get my job. YWCA Toronto programs are highly recommended by me.

YWCA Toronto's Employment Centre is one of the best non-profit organizations where free services are offered to help women, men and youth prepare for employment. They have helpful and knowledgeable staff. While job searching, I had the opportunity to attend the very useful workshops conducted by experienced and knowledgeable counsellors and facilitators. I learned how to draft effective resume and cover letter and how to network and job search effectively. “Gain Confidence For Your Interview” as well as “How to Ace Your Interview” were also very useful workshops. I was feeling confident, inspired and ready to hit the ground running.I later joined the YWCA Toronto Employment Center team as an Employment and Placement Specialist. I enjoyed working with enthusiastic professional team and continued to learn from the management, co-workers and through the on-going skills development trainings and workshops. Being part of the great team and contributing to transforming the client’s lives was incredibly rewarding and I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such a wonderful people.Keep up the great work YWCA Toronto Employment Team!

The YWCA located at Kennedy and Eglinton road is nothing more than amazing and phenomenal team. Not only do they help you find a career specific to whatever it is you have, they also help with resumes, cover letters and interview skills. it's a team built to support you in every endeavor you can ever possibly imagine. If it weren't for the YWCA and their amazing support system I would still feel stuck and very much in the dark of how to approach and direct a career specific lifestyle. From one on one, too workshop material and even making connections in the workforce the YWCA has continued to help and support everyone that walks to their doors.

YWCA had been an amazing company with regards to training acquisition for employees (staff). Our center (Kids Love Daycare and Montessori) has benefited immensely from their great support. they have been able to assist us in hiring placement staff who became our permanent staff, even currently now. Over 75% of our staff are directly from the work of the YWCA team. This company brings joy and provided job opportunities to so many. We are so grateful and thankful for their service, in the community and humanity at large. With great appreciation from Elizabeth Afolabi-Aiyelokun (supervisor)

Excellent services provided by my CA. The best part was that she understood what I was capable of, and helped me attain free training to succeed in Canada. She was from my own country, and immigrant herself which was very helpful because she had a grasp of the cultural shock I was in.Thank you YWCA

In my case all their representatives cared about is did you get a job from somewhere or not. And kept on calling and asking to fill the employment details so they can meet their targets. The ONLY actual help i got from them is through a sincere lady named as TAMARA..she helped me understand the resume part and was actually the one who cared about what i can do.The indian female representative which was assigned to me, kept on forwarding me mails which had no relationship to my skill set or background. When i asked if i can get some assistance on my background, they always ghost you. When i finally got a job outside, that lady called me 3 times a day just to make me fill that form where she could get to tell people that she helped me get a job.I asked later, how did you help me get this job and why i should fill it..she gave me empty lecture and started counting things like she called me often ( which was once in 15 days when i did not had any jobs), she mailed ( those were scheduled forwarded mails, none of them was related to my background)..All I'm saying is, they don't care...but they will bank on your efforts..some of them are actually helpful and nice people like TAMARA..others are just there to give you the same assistance asWE WILL LET YOU KNOW.If you know what I'm saying. But for people who are looking for part time options they do provide some important details..so this review is only for FSW candidates...there are better agencies outside which won't charge you and will actually put an effort to move your life.

I am a newcomer to Canada, and I was desperately searching for jobs. I came to Canada with my family and needed to find a job to feed them. Fortunately, I found this place, and they gave me all sorts of career-related advice and could direct me to an IT recruitment firm. In a few weeks, I could land my current job as a network engineer. I am really thankful for the really nice people who helped me and showed me the way to establish myself here in Canada.
