I worked with the mechanical/process infrastructure team through the plumbers pipe fitters union on the Victoria wastewater treatment plant job. When I continuously produced work, my abilities were acknowledged and I was elevated to foreman status. Compounding to that, my life was changing, the job gave me the ability to purchase a home. When doing renovations I asked for some help from my colleagues. Out of all my coworkers, the only people who showed to help were my superiors; them being staff of Graham construction. Even my union brothers and sisters didn’t come to the call of need where the staff of Graham helped on a very personal level when I needed it.In construction, there is incidents. When these incidents occur, most corporations dismiss employees as a solution to the situation. The management team I worked with at Graham would instead take blame and create a control to change the procedures in order to create a streamlined process improving safety and health standards for all workers.My time with Graham construction is relished and honoured through my advancement in management practices by the examples I was shown by David Aguado, Nick Thierstein and Jared Staves to name a few individuals. I hope to work under their managment or practice mine like theirs in the future of my career. 10/10 company culture I carry forward to this day.
