Landmark Cinemas Port Alberni

Absolutely wicked seats! Very comfortable recliners where the armrest folds up for snuggle time. Seats on the sides are basically private couches. Note that the theatre is way bigger than you'd expect it to be once you're inside. There is only one screen, so the movie playing switches from week to week.This theatre offers a small selection of snacks - popcorn (of course), drinks, and some candy. No hot food, like hotdogs or nachos.I've docked a star because this is an older theatre, and while it's been renovated, it has no air conditioning. Just big fans on the ceiling. Other than that, no complaints! Picture and sound quality are great.

Great seats and awesome staff

After renovations it’s my new favourite theatre great seats lots of leg room and even the first row doesn’t hurt my neck so pretty much any seat in the house is an okay pick

The reclining chairs are amazing, comfy and always clean too! Only one movie a week plays here. Popcorn is always tasty but sometimes they don't fill the popcorn to the top.

Decided to take the trek to port Alberni instead of Nanaimo to see dune, as I have back issues and cannot sit in those seats for longThis theater is delightful, it's very tiny. Only one actual movie playing at one time. But lots of space inside, leather reclining seats that were clean as well.Bathrooms were clean and concessions tasted like they should. Staff was kind and followed covid rules. Extremely enjoyable experience and will be back again

The chairs in this theatre are very comfy. Nice little theatre. Only one movie a week though. So limited choices on what is playing. They show a lot of scary/horror flicks here. Sometimes the popcorn tastes stale or is very kernel-y. Great service and staff though. Always enjoy coming here.

Love our little local theater. It's actually bigger than it looks so when selecting your seats you'll be further back from the screen than you realize. Everyone who works there is very friendly and helpful.

The seats are great.. movie selection is limited. My only issue was last visit my group had purchased the large options for snack and drink because they offer refills. Not even half way through the movie, went back for refills and was told there was nothing left !! Why would you sell things at a raised cost meant to cover refills when you don't offer it. Had I of known we would be told no, we would've saved our money. Don't offer an option for refills if you don't plan on holding up your end of the bargain.

This is a FANTASTIC movie theatre. The seats are incredibly comfortable: they recline, are adjustable and the armrests are optional which I love because it allows you to choose how much space you want between the person next to you and there’s no need to put your snacks on another seat. The movie looked amazing and the screen was quite large so you can still enjoy it from the very back. You get to choose your seating as you buy your ticket which is great and they have reservations available online so you’re easily able to book ahead of time. It may look a bit worn down on the outside, but the theatre itself is very modern.The only downsides were the prices for the snacks were a bit expensive (tickets themselves were fair), though it’s nothing more compared to any other movie theatre. They also have a deal called the “Movie Twosome Deal” and it comes with two admissions, two medium fountain drinks, one large popcorn and a choice of candy for $34.81 which I think is more than reasonable especially considering how big their portions are. The concession was closed during the movie (don’t know why), but they did give us a free large bag of popcorn which I thought was incredibly generous! The concession was really fast and there was no wait time. The movie played a few minutes late and was also a bit loud, but that is just a personal preference as some people prefer it that way.In conclusion, I 100% recommend checking it out and keep in mind that majority of these reviews were made before they updated it so they aren’t necessarily applicable anymore.

We loved seeing Dune in this theater! Nanaimo is where we usually go for these things but their Landmark theater is in such poor condition we opted to check this theater out. I'm glad we did! Small, but charming and cozy with personable staff and most of all, clean! We'll definitely make it out here more often.
