Fortuna's Row
The interior of this restaurant is beautiful. Ambiance and decor– 10/10. I loved the presentation of the dishes and also enjoyed all the flavours. The menu is sharing style so I would recommend coming as a group to try a variety of dishes. The restaurant was very lively when we dined in on a Saturday evening. Even though it was busy, our server was attentive and friendly. I would definitely come back, highly recommend.

We went for a family celebration meal and thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the meal. We all ordered cocktails before the meal and everyone was thrilled with theirs. We then talked to our server, and with taking into account our family's many dietary restrictions, the chef put together a fantastic dinner of shareplates. Altogether a fantastic experience. The only downside is that the tables are close together, so it is not a very intimate dining experience.

Gave this place a second try and I have to say it had Amazing food and vibe. Felt like I walked into Spain. Ordered multiple dishes to get wide variety of taste in their menu. I have to say the portion sizes and quality of food was amazing.. the oysters were the best I ever had. The variety bread plate was so good. The steak and chicken was amazing with the sauces they use. The drinks were great I highly recommend and will come again!

The ambiance of this restaurant is stunning. It has high ceilings, a lot of natural textures, plants and light. The dishes that we ordered were all very delicious as well. The few issues that I had were that our server could have been better. When she was carrying over the tray she spilled my cocktail quite a bit, it was all over the glass and subsequently all over the table. She just joked that it was a really full. Would have been nice if she wiped off the glass rather then me having to do it. She also was very chatty, and couldn’t give very good explanations of the food other than, “it is so good”. I want some detail, is it Smokey, tangy, sour, “freaking good” doesn’t tell me a lot.I also found the menu difficult to read, they said it is a sharing menu, but some items are and others are not. It would be nice if they said how many servings each dish was suitable for.As for the food, the pork belly taco was outstanding, the meat was thick and juicy, sauce that was on top was a bit Smokey. We also got the pato and Pollo sharing places. The pollo was pretty good, however the Pato was outstanding. Every element of this dish had so much flavor that paired well with each other. The sweetness of the carrots and the herbaceous ness of the rice were an excellent paring. The duck was cooked very nicely.Overall, I think the place has great potential, the food it great and so is the atmosphere. They just need to tighten up a bit in other areas.

We were in to celebrate my birthday last night. For starters, the ambiance was absolutely amazing light bright, airy perfect. Our server was phenomenal. We are not big wine drinkers, so they offered to do cocktail pairings with our dinner. We couldn’t decide from the menu as Everything! looked fabulous, so we let them pick our dinner for us I cannot say enough it was so delicious. The sheer number of flavours that came from every bite of food was amazing. Can’t wait to come back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Fortuna Row, and I have to admit that it was a truly memorable experience. I was welcomed with a friendly and charming atmosphere as soon as I entered. The staff, and manager were incredibly friendly, and attentive. Exceptional customer service! The food was amazing, each dish came out perfect and very flavourful, definitely exceeded my expectations. 10/10 would recommend this place!

Because of this restaurant, I’m calling Calgary a city. All over North America, places that are labelled as cites come up so short with culinary culture. For example, I currently live in London, ON. Yes, there are definitely some great spots in this town. Awesome and unique bars, burger joints, pizza, etc… Any attempt at a “big city restaurant” however is an absolute disappointment. I always leave saying “Nice try, London”.Fortuna’s Row though. You could transplant this restaurant to New York, Mexico City, Seattle, Tokyo. Nobody would ever suspect it came from Canadian cowboy country. At first I though I had discovered a hidden gem on Google maps, but as soon as we walked in and saw how the place was totally full and booming with energy, well… not so hidden. The location is very unsuspecting. Away from the heart of downtown and in what almost looks like an industrial building. These amazing spots often are.My eyes immediately darted to the kitchen. It’s a proper chef’s kitchen no question about it. A very well thought out line with a head chef overseeing everyone else in an effort to make a collective unit of culinary mastery. The massive brick oven is a great piece to be so prominently displayed.I feel like a jerk but I can’t remember our server’s name. He was fantastic. Informative, charming, switched on. I get the vibe that the staff enjoy working here.Despite being packed to the gills, we never waited long to be checked up on or for the dishes themselves. Our drinks came very quickly. We started with the salad and whatever the concoction used as a base is, it’s definitely working. Fantastic start.Causa was next. I’d never seen it served like this (not that that means a damn thing) in a deconstructed way. It was another win.For a main, we shared the Pato (arroz con pato). I liked that for such a swanky joint, they offered this. It’s a staple Peruvian dish and not considered anything fancy there. It was served with a traditional humble feel too. Even a fried egg thrown down in the middle because why the hell not.If I have one criticism it’s the duck breast portion of the pato. Maybe a bit rare for the thickness of the cut. I don’t know. I hope the chef doesn’t read this and throw their phone yelling “that’s how it’s supposed to be you uncultured hick!” That’s just my take. This place was entirely a fantastic surprise find for dinner. There were so many other things on that menu I wanted to try and I absolutely will in time.Thank you for a great dining experience and cannot wait to try it again.

Wow. The decor is completely original and stunning. The service was very efficient and the food came very quickly. A really original menu. The chivecie was on of the best dishes I have ever had.

My 3rd time dining at Fortuna's Row—a good experience. The food has definitely improved since my first visit. The best dishes that I had last time were the pork belly taco and the 'pato' (green rice and confit duck)—incredible. However, the bone marrow was practically inedible—literally a giant bone (with very little marrow) and the pork rind was as hard as a rock. Service was fine. Still a great place to a spend an evening for food and drinks.

Culinary Dream! I'm OBSESSED! Not only because my pretty mini comes home from hostessing and talking up everything on the menu but now, because I've experienced this amazing place to the fullest! From the ambiance to the music of choice as you walk into this wonderful representation of #mylatinamerica ♡, the service is on point and welcoming! The food ~ O. M. G!! My pics don't do it justice but what I will say is if you don't try this place at least once, you're missing out on one of Calgary's best experiences with flavors that will leave you wanting more! Highly recommended spot! Thanks Nick & all your staff for what you've created! (OH! And that coconut/passion fruit cake for her birthday party was A HUGE HIT!)
