Moltaqa Moroccan Restaurant Mainland Street Yaletown
Food was delicious and fresh. Lots of new flavours i had not had before. There are belly dancers that come by every so often and do a few songs. The ambiance is dark and unique. The service needs to be tweaked in my opinion. My food was delivered to the wrong table and so it took forever. The actual servers are very kind and accommodating. Recommended!

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely traditional restaurant in downtown .The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing and flavorful , everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best waiters specially Anna .thanks for making a great night guys !We will definitely go there again.(Highly recommend!)

Food is definitely on the pricey side for the portion size, especially for the saffron rice and cardamom duck. The lamb sausages and prawns were really good appetizer and the flambé lamb was delicious. The performances were really enjoyable as well. However, would not recommend the chicken sausages, they were quite dry.

Amazing food and superb service. Got the Lamb apricot sauce which was delicious. The servers seem to be genuinely happy and you can tell from their smiles. Excellent and authentic decorations that were just as delicious to look at as the food!

Moltaqa experience was bitter sweet. We were a party of 3 people and we arrived at 8:25 pm for 8:30 pm reservation. Our reception was uninviting. The manager / host made us feel unwelcome at this restaurant.All the tables were occupied and we were made to stand till 8:45 at main door. No one sat us at the bar even though there were empty seats. After 15 min, we sat ourselves down at the bar and the manager finally observed us. He informed us that it will take 5 more minutes and provided us with 2 pieces of bread and a dip while we continued to wait.25 minutes after reservation time, our table was finally ready.3 more groups were assigned tables before us. Not sure if they had a reservation for an earlier time or a personal preference criteria was implemented.The reason given to us for the wait was that some customers take 5 hours instead of maximum of 2 hours to leave their table.After getting a table, We never saw the host/ manager again and the whole experience changed 180 degrees.Food was quick, servers were polite, inviting, pleasant and were at the top of their recommendation game.Mezze platter came out fairly quickly out of kitchen and was excellent. The bread was hot and fresh. The server introduced all the dips and each one was made from fresh ingredients with perfect serving temperature.Main courses were grilled chicken and lamb shoulder. The chef and his team delivered again and food was excellent. Meat was tender and oozing out juices, accompanying vegetables were well cooked and had absorbed the juice from meat. The spices were fresh too.The dining experience was further enhanced through Belly dancing, which further improved vibe of experience at this restaurant and raised energy in the room for everyone.Conclusion: Start was rocky but restaurant made an amazing comeback and made up for it through food.I recommend visiting this restaurant for authentic good Moroccan food and an Arabic experience.

The food is amazing! For dessert, we ordered cheesecake and it was so delicious. Service was great, and we got our food and drinks pretty fast despite the fact that the restaurant was full. Highly recommend visiting!

On our table:Safran and Lemon Halal Lamb ShankVegetarian Sampler PlatterSide CouscousMoroccan Cherries Crepes SuzetteI highly recommend the Vegetarian Sampler Platter. Whether you're Vegetarian or not, this platter is an excellent way to sample lots of wonderful flavors and textures. Even our picky eater enjoyed this platter! We also enjoyed the couscous. It was a lovely accompaniment to the different dishes that came on our Vegetarian platter. Couscous is very much an unsung hero. We see rice all the time in so many different restaurants that we go to, but we hardly ever see couscous. This couscous was soooo good!Moroccan Cherries Crepes Suzette is a showstopper that you really don't want to miss out on! It's visually stunning to see them flambeing it, and it tastes just as good as it looks!Our daughter enjoyed herself so much, she decided to leave a Thank you note for the restaurant. What a wonderful restaurant! The atmosphere is fantastic and adds to the experience. The bartender, Anna, made amazing and inventive cocktails, and our server Ryohei was very attentive and well-versed in the different dinner offerings. We had a delicious dinner and were very impressed by the service and quality of this place. Already booking our table for another night out at Moltaqa!

Great atmosphere and very exotic flavors. We love the food but just felt a little bit awkward because they gave us a very small table. When all dishes came, the table was too full. And bill price wasn't the same as menu price, please take a look before paying. Overall, a pleasant mortician food experience.
