Mikaku Udon Bar
A bit hard to find the small entrance but worth trying it out. Tasty udon, soft yet al-dente, soup-less Maze udon served with a bowl of rice, after finishing the udon, it's good to have the rice mix with left over sauce. Make sure to ask a more flat spoon for the rice, better than the soup spoon on the table. Very good service, may come again.

Mikaku Udon Bar
Mikaku Udon Bar is an intimate space that can fill up quickly during peak hours. There is a beautiful mural along one side of the dining area and the staff were very attentive.What we got:- Chicken Karaage- Maze Udon- Spicy Cream UdonMy Favs:I really enjoyed the spicy cream udon, more than I thought I would! It was creamy but because the sauce was soupier in consistency I didn't find it too heavy or thick. The seafood was well cook, in particular the shrimp, and there is bacon in the sauce making it taste similar to a carbonara. It also comes with a few slices of baguette to soak up remaining sauce and some small plates of pickles and coleslaw that helped cut through the creaminess.Final thoughts:My first dining experience at Mikaku exceeded my expectations and I'll definitely be back to try more. I think the price for the portion size is definitely on the higher end (this would be 5 stars if the meal was a few dollars cheaper), but I still really enjoyed it.

Amazing experience here! From the staff to the delcious udonDid not know what to expect when coming to eat here. Walked in and loved the wooden feel and the view into the kitchenWalk a bit more and the space opens up to the dining area with more seating and an amazing mural across the wallThe waitress was super friendly and asked if it was my first time and went to mention some of the popular bowls they hadI went ahead with the creamy spicy udon with seafood and when it came out, my initial thought was, I’m definitely gonna enjoy thisThe spicy cream sauce had just enough heat to it. The thick chewy udon soaked in that amazing cream sauce and every strand was coated so nicelyThey also gave a couple sides to munch on while you waited for your food. For me, it was a salad of some sort and pickled cucumbers. The cucumbers, I could eat so many of them! They were so good!And ending the meal off, they also gave me a yakult which was a really nice touch to my experience.Definitely coming back with the family to enjoy these udon noodles again!Great job overall!Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for better pics, vids and more amazing content

Mikaku Udon Bar
been wanting to try this place out for a while and it didn’t disappoint. we tried the chicken curry udon and onigiri. the onigiri was different than what we expected, but wow! amazing appetizer. udon was creamy and extremely flavourful! the chicken was crispy and juicy! I wish it was slightly bigger but I’m not complaining. great spot, you should definitely visit when you’re in the area.

Really good udon bar!Came here for lunch around 1pm on a Sunday. The restaurant was fairly busy but they were able to seat us (table of 6) really quickly. We ordered the maze udon, chicken curry udon, and buta udon. You get two side dishes of pickles and they gave us takoyaki on the house which was really nice!Takoyaki - smaller than normal takoyaki (about half the size?) but had a generous amount of octopus in each. Sauces were also slightly different from the traditional, but still good.Maze udon - dry udon topped with pork, an egg yolk, Nori, garlic, bonito and lots of green onions & chives. They give you a small dish of vinegar on the side to mix in to your liking. It's recommend to mix and taste without the vinegar first. You also get a bowl of rice after you finished the noodles to mix in with the remaining sauce. So flavourful with a mild kick, the rice was my favourite part.Chicken curry udon - creamy and delicious, would recommend if you're craving good Japanese curry.Buta udon - the soup was really good and the pork belly had a good Smokey flavor.

Mikaku Udon Bar
Really enjoyed this place! Clean spacious interior and great food. I ordered the Buta Udon and it was delicious. The pork belly itself had a nice meat-to-fat ratio with a lovely soft tenderness. The broth was super flavourful and the noodles had a delightful bouncy chew. The meal also came with complimentary appetizers - we really loved the pickled celery! Shout out to the wait staff who were really on the ball. They refilled our appetizers twice without us asking. Great service! Please give this restaurant a try.

Mikaku Udon Bar
Delicious udon! Perfectly chewy, well-balanced, and flavourful.Tried the takoyaki, creamy seafood udon (delicious seafood-infused carbonara flavour), odeng udon (new on menu, lots of variety with fish cakes, rice cake, and sausage), and the classic maze (flavourful minced meat broth with a bowl of rice). Total was ~$150 for 6.Servers were attentive and refilled pickles and pickled cabbage, as well as water. Interior is a bit small but very clean and cute. Would come again to try the other flavours!

Ever since I found out about Mikaku Udon Bar, I've been coming here ever since! This is often my favourite spot to meet up with friends for dinner, or to recommend to foodies for local good eats in Richmond Hill. The udon here never disappoints; the udon texture is chewy, and the flavours of the broth/sauce are really tasty! There are now 8** udons you can choose from (4 are soup based, and 4 are non-soup based)** Mikaku just added the NEW Oden Udon last month ^^ with lots of fish cakes, and in an anchovy dashi broth!My go-to is always the Veggie Tofu Udon. The broth is clear and light. It is perfect for when I'm under the weather or when I want something not so heavy for dinner.Many people recommend the Spicy Creamy Udon (with seafood), and the Curry Chicken Udon. I have to agree; they are both so creamy and delicious! It is a little on the heavier side, so I would recommend sharing it with someone!Psst, there is a whole NEW alcoholic beverage menu - you will find bottles of regular sake, fruity sake, and beer options as well!

Just know that there will be a lineup but worth the wait.We ordered chicken karaage, curry udon, and spicy seafood udon.Both udons were delicious, creamy, rich. Both had its own unique flavours and we'd be happy to order these again.Disappointed at the quantity of the Karaage, so tiny for the price. 12.99 - I'd skip this next time.

I love this restaurant!! I love the atmosphere, the service, and the food!! Menu is simple, not too much choices but it has all you need!! I had the Seafood Udon, it says 2 chilli but it’s not so strong that make you sweat; instead, I can enjoy the whole bowl of soup with the spicy level. My friend had the Spicy Cream Udon, that is mild spicy but very rich and creamy. Both of them are really good and I definitely will come back again to try more of their other menu.Last thing I want to mention is, the store owner is actually a very artistic person!! I saw her making her own design and putting up decorations for the shop ❤️
