Top Hat Cleaners and Alterations Store

Top Hat Cleaners bleached 2 of my dress shirts, I picked up my newly cleaned dress shirts and dress pants and returned home, when I went to put them away and noticed that 2 of the dress shirts were bleached, I then drove back to the store to complain. The clerk kept the 2 shirts at the store and said I would need to wait a month (until Feb 28th) before the manager would return to look at the damage shirts. I went in again 2 weeks later to drop off more of my dress cloths for cleaning and the clerk said she was still waiting for the manager to return. After 5 weeks and not hearing from them I went in to the store, clerk immediately started at me with a new story that the shirts had been damaged by another dry cleaner and it wasn’t them, so I reminded her that I’ve been coming to this store and dropping of my dress cloths every two weeks for several months and that Top Hat was the only dry cleaner I have used (she knew that because she’s the only person that works at that location). She then said she remembers me bringing in the shirts for cleaning and that the collars were already bleached, I reminder her she always inspects dress shirts for staining especially the collars area before accepting shirts and if she did see a problem, she would have rejected them when I originally dropped them off, these bleached areas can’t be missed. Top Hat’s website they say, “Satisfaction Guaranteed 100%”, this is not the case and just a lie. In the pictures below you will see the 2 bleached dress shirts, you will see my shirts still have the original dry-cleaning tags on them from Top Hat and you will see Top Hat’s yellow stickers that Top Hat stapled on my shirts, and they marked the shirts as “Collar bleach by plant”.Very dishonest company, they do not stand behind their service and they are also not in good standing with the Better Business Bureau.

CAUTION, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEMThey lost a blazer of mine and refused to compensate me for in any which way, and then when I asked for a fair compensation, they kept telling me 'next week' about a month and a half. And then when I finally met the owner in person, he offered to pay me a very small fraction(100$) of what the actual blazer cost (500$)The owner that proceeded to walk away and not do anything about itWorst part about it is that I even paid for the cleaning of the blazer that they didn't return back to me(10$)Never doing business with this business againStay away

I went in to get my winter coat dry-cleaned. When I got it back, they had removed a food stain on it but the rest of the coat didn't seem to be cleaned at all (black stains from before were still present and unchanged, lint still present).Additionally, the woman working there is quite cold and rude. Doesn't say anything and when asked a question, gives short and curt replies - really frustrating to deal with.Only gave it 2 star cause they did get rid of a bigger food stain. Wouldn't use again though - not worth the money to just get my coat back as-is.

Very professional and fairly priced. Staff here is kind, friendly, and informative when it comes to the materials of the clothing. I would recommend this location to anyone who is looking for alterations and/or dry cleaning.

Very professional and pleasant to deal with. Excellant alterations. Used them for 3 alterations and was very pleased especially with shortening of sleeves on an expensive winter coat. Highlyrecommend.

I wish I could give this place a negative star. I went for drycleaning the first time. I got my clothes back yesterday and they are not drycleaned. I am shocked to see that they just put my clothes in hangers and returned it as is. I didn't see it then but later when I can home I saw the same stains and same dust marks and i was shocked that they didn't do anything. All the cashmere sweaters are returned with lint all over. I can't believe what kind of drycleaning causes lint on sweaters. A rip off and a scam. When I was there to give clothes, a poor girl was arguing with the lady that the dress she gave for dryclean is returned with stains and despite giving it back to clean and remove the stains they have put more stains on it and now the dress is ruined. The person at the shop was completely indifferent and felt not remorse to this and said there is nothing she can do. Such pathetic service. I should have understood what kind of work these guys are doing there and shouldn't have given them my clothes. They should really close down the business with this kind of awful service. Please beware of them. I posted one picture of my pant that shows the dust marks at the bottom.

Simran is a great employee easy to work. The negative review is regarding their carpet cleaning service that I used for my rugs. They were cleaned twice and believe me when I say I could’ve cleaned them better and saved myself some dollars

On Saturday, July 2nd, I had gone to Top Hat Cleaners and Alterations to have my Maid of Honour dress tailored. The lady that was taking my measurement used a white tailor chalk tomark the measurements on the dress at the bottom for where to hem. I was told that I could come and pick up the dress on Friday, July 8th after work. However, due to the Rogers outageimpacting my workday, I could not make it to pick up the dress so I went on Saturday, July 9th. Nonetheless, the dress was not ready as the owner, Paul had said “we were working late last night to get the dress done and when we went to iron the dress, the chalk left the wax stain. Never in my 7 years have I encountered a material that has done this.” Not only was mydress not ready on time, but he knew about the stain and was waiting for me to notice it, and if not, hoping to get away with ruining an important dress. Very rudely, he tried to downplay thestain despite telling him it’s for my sister’s wedding and then he yelled, ‘so what do you want to do about it!?’. I had no choice but to let him take the dress to the dry cleaner as my flight wasless than a week away and I needed the dress for it. He promised it would be ready in perfect condition on Monday, July 11. I went after work on Monday to pick up the dress only to find anew stain on it. It appears to be a stain from an iron or an object with tiny holes that left dark marks on my dress at the bottom. Paul chose not to come in to the store that day as hisreceptionist had said that “he’s preparing for his trip to India” and made it appear like he was leaving within the month. When I asked when is it, she said “September”. I told her about thestain and told her that she can even take pictures to show Paul but she did not care. I told her that based on the website and ‘quality service’ promised on their website I had selected theirbusiness and she said nothing. I asked her to call Paul to see what he can do about the new stain he made on the dress but she kept insisting that he wouldn’t answer. However, when hedid answer, she went to the back to talk to him and came back out saying he can take it back to the same cleaners which ruined my dress.

They lost a blazer and weren’t willing to adequately compensate for it

Went to get a zipper replaced on a heavy duty winter jacket. They delayed pick up 3 times and when I finally got it back, the zipper is shorter than the original and the slidder is on the wrong side.
