Catherine Babault Photography

Catherine is a great guide and photographer. I spent a 1/2 day with her recently and really appreciated her knowledge of the area, respect for wildlife, and depth of photography experience. She spent time figuring out what I wanted and delivering it. I look forward to returning.

I have just completed a 3-day photography workshop with Catherine and I cannot express how terrific the experience was. The forests, beaches, estuaries, and islands we visited were stunning and provided ample opportunity to explore composition with the camera. Catherine’s technical skills with the camera and her artistic perspective helped me to better understand how ‘to be quiet’ in nature in order to really think about the image you really want to make! Thanks Catherine for a truly lovely experience.

First became acquainted with Catherine's beautiful work on social media and recently purchased a copy of her book Vancouver Island Wildlife - A Photo Journey" which will now be a treasured part of my library. A fabulous collection of wonderful photographs highlighting one of the most amazing parts of British Columbia

I took a day long nature and wildlife photography workshop with Catherine on Denman Island and had an awesome time! Catherine was friendly, well-prepared, professional, and has a great knowledge of photography, nature and wildlife, and the local area which all makes for a great teacher and guide.Catherine’s easy going personality made for a relaxed, fun atmosphere where we could just have fun taking photos and learning. I really enjoyed that it was hands on from start to finish to get the most out of our time, and it was great to learn some of the secrets of a pro.I walked away with a better understanding of outdoor and wildlife photography, more confidence overall, and it got me excited to get back out there and practice what I learned. I think about my composition and lighting a lot more now and have the knowledge of what to look for that can take a photo from good to great. I really appreciate all the great info, tips and tricks, and constructive advice Catherine offered, even after our workshop.I will definitely try and go to one of Catherine’s workshops again and recommend her to others too!

Catherine is an amazing person and an amazing photographer with such an eye to capture amazing images. I have known her for a few years and have followed her photography journey, so it was such a delight when Catherine published her book Vancouver Island Wildlife - A Photo Journey". My daughter, 11, did Catherine’s 2-session Zoom package in French as a birthday present. She was extremely impressed and inspired by Catherine’s photography and very much enjoyed sharing her own work for critique. She especially liked Catherine’s tips on photographing animals and has since applied Catherine’s techniques on light and angles. Highly recommended!

Catherine is a very knowledgeable photographer and extremely talented. I took a photography class with her in person (which was an amazing opportunity) she helped me recognize different opportunities and perspectives to improve my photography in the field. She also told me about some special effect products that I should consider when trying to capture a preferred shot. I definitely feel more confident in my photography with the information I got from her. If you're interested in extending your knowledge of photography I definitely recommend taking her class.
