My friend and I volunteered there back in 2014, it was a great experience, everyone was friendly and it was great experience seeing some of the work the social workers go though on a daily basis. Talk to kristin if your interested in doing some volunteer hours, she's super friendly and helpful.

If the mission of this community assistance organization is to show other s what it is like to be touched by the hand of God, they achieved that with me. This year was a tough year. Fighting physical health issues, debilitating depression that has been the worse I have felt to date, along with personal loss, unemployment, falling out of society's routine made the holidays almost unbearable. Until Dec 22 2015 when my appointment to receive my holiday basket arrived. At my previous appointment for the weekly food bank, I was told to bring extra bags. I usually bring a medium backpack...the staff asked with a smile, do you have a suitcase, a large suitcase? So I brought my backpack, a duffle bag and a small rolling case. I won't describe the process, but the atmosphere was electric. Every face I came in contact with was beaming with joy and pride and as I was about to find out, not only well deserved needed to be publicly shared with anyone who would get some of the good they shared;without hesitation or expectation. The whole experience lasted about 45mins and my bags were stuffed to zipper-streching capacity even my pockets were full. Luckily I only live 2 blocks from the office. I must have floated home because it felt effortless to bring my enormous bounty home. It must have weighted over 100 lbs not including a 25lb turkey because it filled my sparse cupboards, countertops and any flat surface! After everything was put away, I made a coffee, sat by my window, looked out to the street watching the other people in my community scurry around in the holiday fueled pace. I put my coffee on the window sill and began to sob, the messy Haley Berry at the Golden Globes" kinda cry. Not from sadness

10 out of 10 would recommend reaching out to Yonge Street mission. I started off my journey by reaching out to their crisis line and have made my way through multiple sessions of therapy and multiple support groups. Definitely a game changer. The staff is incredibly knowledgable and the education services they provide are immaculate and extremely inclusive. Now that the Covid restrictions have dropped, I am so excited to see all the programs back in action so people can get the services they've been patiently awaiting!

Wonderful place for those in need and kind staff who try to be as helpful as possible. I really only go there once a week for supplies or if my fiancée wants to check out the health hub but it seems like they have a lot of services for homeless and street youth who may really need it

This is a great place for single mom's especially and low income parents to get help, food bank, family workers to help with supporting patents in difficult times and children can get tutoring help! Please call or check out if you are in the area. Also donations of food, clothes, and school supplies just to name a few are accepted. Lots of other help there!!!
