Jim Durrell Recreation Centre

Little bit dated but a good facility for local community events!

Don't know if it was just us, but the ice seemed oddly slow. But the arena was really nice. High boards at the bench made it hard to jump over for adults, so for kids likely impossible, but the doors were large and operated so I suppose that was intentional. Showers were in some of the best repair of any of the rinks around Ottawa.

The Jim Durrell Recreation centre is a great place for everyone in your family.to enjoy sports and recreational activities. They have two great ice arenas for hockey, ringette and figure skating as well as a small practice rink. The ice surfaces are kept in great shape with good refrigeration. The dressing rooms are of good size and the showers are kept clean. There is ample room to watch games in both the Walkley and Peplinski arenas as well as you can watch outside in the warmer viewing area where you can enjoy a warm coffee and food from the arena's snack bar.The community centre also has seasonal camps for both kids and adults, skating lessons, and it is a great facility for league play. This community centre is part of the City of Ottawa's recreational centres and lots of people enjoy it, so why not join in with the rest of the community and have some fun.If you like my reviews, photos or videos why not shoot your thumb up to the top shelf and have a good skate.

I mostly came because of Pokémon go but other than that this is a great place

Nice rink and giant conference/party room. The often have small events happening every Saturday morning which is nice. Best rink you can find in this part of the city I guess.

Cold rink...brrrrrrrr...makes for great ice though. Plenty of parking, with specially designated spots for those that are challenged. Washrooms are clean however an odd setup for soap - only one actually dispenses soap, so theres a line up......for soap!! Excellent canteen, and really friendly staff. #localguide

Nice rink. Main rink bleachers have plenty of space. Well lite, large washrooms.Front doors open automatically.Nice well stocked canteen including slush puppy!

I crossed the city with my 5 year old son to take him to ice skating. When we got there, it was closed, although according to the opening hours on Google it should be opened. No explanation or anything posted on the doors.

Nice facility,. Clean and well maintained. Two ice pads one with seating for 5 hundred people the other with seating for maybe 100. The facility has a small sports shop that provides skate sharpening, tape, repairs etc. The canteen is well stocked with the usual rink food and drinks. Parking is sufficient with several handicap spaces.

Easily accessible from other large streets.Clean locker rooms, good quality ice and a nice canteen. No comment on the prices, have not bought anything.
