Absolutely love this place super friendly and helpful. We had such poor experience with our previous vet and our friend had suggested this place and we will be bringing all 3 of our pets to them from now on. It's a little drive for us but well worth it.

Took my dog Mia in to be spayed, and they did an excellent job. She has suffered no effects from the surgery. They also provided much needed information about post surgery care.

I called inquiring about chemotherapy for my pup after her amputation. The receptionists were wonderful. Dr. Fleming returned my call and was very kind while explaining the process to me. Despite not being a patient yet, everyone was friendly, attentive, and answered all my questions without demanding a referral before they'd speak to me.

I was in to grab some medication for my dog. There were no other customers being helped and the staff at the front desk were reluctant to greet me. I waited for a few minutes while they looked up from their computers and looked at me but did not acknowledge that a customer had walked in. Eventually one lady looked up from her computer and finally was willing to help me. She seemed to have an attitude and was not able to be pleasant with me. She proceeded to tell me that she could not provide what I was looking for as my dog had not been there for over a year, I graciously explained I had personally been there a few weeks earlier with my dog for a check up. She said that’s was her mistake and I filled out the order for my dogs medication. I was not impressed with my time there. I Hope that the staff may find their purpose and hope in something bigger than ignoring their customers.

I’ve had nothing but a great experience every time I’ve been to the Oakbank vet. It’s a bit of a drive for me, but it’s so worth it. The compassion and care they offer is above and beyond. :)

I called to make an appointment for a new kitten we are getting this year. The first person I spoke with was friendly helpful and resourceful. She lived up to the reputation of both Oakbank being friendly and the vet clinic being flexible. I then called back to see if I could get a confirmation of that appointment sent to my email so that crossing the border could just be that little bit more prepared for us. The answer was no. Which I would have accepted after ensuring there really were not alternatives. The border guard could call the clinic after all. But before I could really ask what the alternatives were the receptionist rudely asked if I planned to come to the appointment after I crossed the border or was I just planning to use the appointment confirmations to come into the country then not come in. I really don’t know anyone who would do such a thing and I was shocked to be accused of such. I was merely asking to see if there was anything I could have to make crossing the border easier. From that point the conversation went downhill as I’m sure the receptionist could tell I was insulted and angry and instead of apologizing or explaining her unjust accusation she just became even sharper in tone and ruder in attitude. She was abrupt in speech by not even allowing me to finish my sentences even though I was upset I retained my manners and polite tone. She did not. I don’t understand how such a person was ever hired and retained. I found extremely helpful staff at the transcona animal hospital. It’s sad when one terrible client service provider ruins an establishment. We live in Oakbank and we have happily used local services for as much as we could. This is not one of them.

I've been coming to Oakbank for a few years now and absolutely love the service. Employees (reception, techs, vets, etc) are all very friendly!My dog is pretty shy and the techs have always been patient with her. Dr. Carly Mayo is professional, thorough and personable! She listens to your concerns and doesn't just automatically push/recommend the most expensive treatment options. She explains things clearly and genuinely seems to want the best for your pet.I drive out from Winnipeg and have been very happy with the switch. Large, spacious, clean waiting area. Plenty of parking and grass areas outside.

The people are great. The veterinarians are superb. And it's very convenient if you live east of the city. But holy-moly, their prices might send you to a people hospital. $300+ for a blastomycosis test (that takes 2 weeks). Such a test costs $200 in Kenora and less than $50 in the US.
