Can’t say enough wonderful things about the midwives here, they were all great! Special thanks to Millie for guiding me through my second birth with my daughter. I decided to go with a natural birth at the midwife clinic and am so glad I didEdit- I’m going to go with 3 stars as my daughters health card paperwork sat there for over 90 days not being submitted. I called twice asking it to be submitted and it’s now expired with no explanation as to why.

A tremendous thank you to the KCM -- a kind and loving practice that made my journey through pregnancy and labour (all while during COVID) absolutely nourishing. The opportunity to connect with midwives during my pregnancy was educational, supportive and extremely non invasive. To have people at your side while you undergo a big change in your life is so unique. I would absolutely recommend Kawartha Community Midwives to any person who is seeking care through their pregnancy. At the end of my care I was sad to not see them anymore - I've never had a relationship with a healthcare professional that was so bonding.

I had an appointment booked with the midwives, and then I had some light bleeding and was very scared. I called them and they told me to go to my family dr. I had no support from them and felt very rejected and frightened. I couldn’t get a hold of my dr and ended up calling Telehealth who were very helpful and reassuring. Everything turned out fine but I canceled my appointment with the Peterborough Midwives and just went the OB route instead. I was really looking forward to having a natural approach with this baby ( my other 2 were very clinical) and I am still sad I won’t get that because I can’t trust them to be there for me when I need them.

Millie Dean is an absolute Godsend, her soft way makes your anxiety and worries near those final hours of meeting your new joy just melt away, also during deliveryand after the delivery answering all of our questions and examining our new daughter, it really made me feel like she was examining one of her own. Susan and Lisa Chappelle also chipped in and it really made it feel like such a great loving team effort. I definitely recommend them

Jaylene and the other midwives that saw me through my pregnancy were professional and extremely knowledgeable. They provided wonderful support and always gave me all the information I needed to make informed decisions throughout my pregnancy and while planning the birth of my son. They were willing to accommodate me with the birthing plan of my choice no matter if it was going to be at home, in the clinic, or at the hospital. I also know several other women who have each used Kawartha Community Midwives for more than one pregnancy and had amazing experiences. I will absolutely be using them again for baby number two!

I am beyond grateful for the team at KCM! A very special thank you though to our main midwife, Elena. My spouse and I can't thank her enough for everything she's done. She was always just a phone call away, was amazing support at my son's birth, and an all around wonderful woman to talk to and confide in pre and post partum. As much as I wasn't a fan of pregnancy, my birth didn't go as (completely) planned, and post partum being completely different then I imagined (being in NICU), Elena was always there and helped make the entire pregnancy experience an absolute blessing. I can't recommend these services enough to expecting moms. Thank you KCM!

My experience at Kawartha Centre is amazing! My wife's midwife was awesome, I was scared of her promise of 24hrs service until we called her and she came in 2am. Dean Melissa who was my our midwife was attentive, loving, caring, and professional. I recommend her at all times and I would love to have her again as my wife's midwife. I am an international student but she made us feel loved and cared for. She is just all you need and I believe Kawartha Centre midwives are all awesome.

Bryony and Kaitlynn have been an amazing addition to our birth experience.After having two traumatic births, Bryony helped us have a calm and amazing birth. I was unsure if I could do it unmedicated but with their help, I was able to! We were able to go home 3 hours after and she came to our house for appointments.I would highly recommend KCC to anyone looking for a more natural birth experience.

Caitlin Murray and Catherine Ulstrup were angels as well as the rest of the team. I felt respected, well cared for, safe, and that everyone truly cared about me, my husband, and our baby's well being on all aspects. They gave me all the info I needed and more. During labour Laotlin applied some essential oils she was just trained in using and to my surprise they were actually amazing I would recommend them. We ended up with a hospital transfer from our intended home birth due to meconium stained amniotic fluid (slow leak). This process was well done and professional. The team at PRHC gave us all our space and we had a beautiful hospital birth attended by the midwives. Home visits afterwards are greatly appreciated versus going in somewhere so early postpartum. Lots of great referrals offered too such as Mindfulness courses, pelvic floor physio, and experienced counsellors for the post partum period of needed. I'm a lucky momma .Will be using these folks again in the future. Their clinic is beautiful too despite location.

Thanks to the amazing midwives and staff here, I had my dream home birth experience! Bryony and Millie were the midwives at my birth and I cannot say enough good things about them. They read the room so well, and they seemed to know exactly what I wanted without me having to say a word. They were so kind, professional and gentle with me. One of the best parts was the home visits postpartum, so grateful that I did not need to leave my house in those first few weeks. Highly highly recommend!
