Chocpaw is one of the largest sled dog touring compounds in Ontario. It recently shut down, with approximately 200 dogs in need of homes. Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary immediately offered to intake, rehabilitate, treat all of the dogs - but the kennel owner turned them down.The few dogs that have made it out to the general public have had issues including immature cataracts, numerous fractured teeth, an enlarged prostate, tremors, a calcified leg bone, internal and external tumors and masses, and all the dogs will require joint supplements for the rest of their lives. One has also tested positive for coccidia. Another has already died during surgery from an internal mass.Chocpaw is sending these dogs to mushers throughout Canada and the United States.Please step in and ask Chocpaw to release the remaining dogs to a sanctuary, so they can get the veterinary care they so clearly need.

GREAT TIME. Stopped by to see the 200 dogs and the two women working invited us in for a tour. Very informative and educational. Kids loved it !!!!

Just adopted Kiwi and Pine. Absolutely love them both. The place is great and they treat and talk about the dogs as if they are family. Loved it and would recommend this to anyone who loves dogs!!

Unreal operation. You can feel the love and care the employees give the dogs. Worth just stopping in to see the people and dogs!

A great experience with the staff, sledding and of course the dogs! The people are authentic and enjoy their work, they have a definite and mutual connection with the sledding dogs. For those who enjoy the outdoors and aren't afraid of the cold and want to learn how to run your own dogs this is the place to go!These dogs love to run.
