Durham Montessori School & Daycare

My 2 year old son has been attending for about 8 weeks and we are so happy with our decision. His teachers are so attentive and genuinely loving, they communicate well with us and he absolutely adores them! We are also very happy to see a good improvement in his language and communication skills in the short time he's been attending. As an added bonus they provide fun activities for them to do such as clay molding or a visit from a Magician.He loves going in in the mornings which is a credit to the fabulous caregivers and it gives us great peace of mind - priceless!Thank you DMSD!

Our son's time with the Montessori has been very fulfilling. He had the opportunity to learn and understand the basics of verbal communication, table manners, playtime, as well as overcome his social anxiety by interacting with his teachers and other toddlers. I am so grateful for the love and attention showered on my son especially by Rana, his favorite teacher, as well as the other teachers. Special kudos to Nancy, the director of the daycare, she has always been approachable and pleasant. And, she really strives to make the daycare an amazing place for your children. Highly recommend them!

Our 22 month old daughter has been attending Durham Montessori School & Daycare for 5 months and we could not be happier with our decision. Nancy, Nicole and ALL of the teachers are absolutely incredible. She has learned so much and better yet always has fun. She is filled with smiles at drop off and is always eager to go and play with her friends. At home she constantly sings songs that she has learned at school and talks about the other kids in her class. As a parent there is nothing more heartwarming than knowing your child is loved and cared for during the day. The teachers treat our daughter like she is their own and we could not be more thankful to have found this school. We have recently moved to Port Hope and continue to attend Durham Montessori as it is hands down the greatest school/environment we have seen. Thank you DMSD for all you do for the children and their families, we are so thankful!

Having been relatively new to the area, I did a lot of researched for the right place to take care of my (first) child, for when I went back to work. Durham Montessori was at the top of our list, by far. When we toured the facility (pre COVID) we found it to be a very welcoming + clean facility. Right before our daughter was about to start, COVID hit + we were very uncertain if we should even send her to daycare given the circumstances of the world. I had several conversations with Nancy + she couldn't have been more understanding + supportive. In the end we sent our daughter to daycare + although she started off a little scared + shy (as most kids do) she quickly warmed up to the excellent staff members + never complained when we were heading out the door every morning.The updates on the hey mama" app were a highlight during my work day. Seeing what she was up to + the things she was learning was amazing.The staff are very open to discussing any feedback or questions we had along the way making it a truly collaborative + comfortable experience. I can't recommend this daycare enough!"

This Montessori is definitely much better than just a franchised daycare. The owner Nancy takes a lot of personal interest in the kids attending . I once sent her an email at night and she got back to me right away. The teachers especially Miss Shreyani , Andra , ms Ranna and Nicole are so nice and always create a personal bond with the kids. My son has been going since a year and he is always happy to be there. The teachers are always concerned and will also let me know if he has not eaten and will try their best to ensure that he is well taken care of. Nancy is approachable and is always ready to listen to all my concerns. My son will continue here for the next year for sure.

Absolutely lovely and warm staff! Since day one, Nancy, the principal, has proven to be a blessing to our family by accepting our 15 months old in, and ensuring a smothe transition for him. Rana and Roksana dedicate tremendous love and passion to my son, for that I am eternally grateful!The program creates hands-on experiences for my baby to interact with every area of knowledge from languages and math, music, dance, cooking and even a mini Zoo!We also love the open communication, and daily reports from Himama, with the week’s pictures!I would absolutely recommend this daycare to any family!

My daughter has attended this school since she was 2. We originally came from a licensed home care provider whom we loved and I was hoping to find something that provided her with the same attention and closeness while continuing to challenge her. Durham Montessori exceeded our expectations. My daughter is exposed to a wide variety of activities (everything from virtual pottery to magicians to classic Montessori activities) that all work to provide her with a number of important skills. The Director (Nancy) and Manager (Nicole) make tremendous efforts to ensure children feel supported and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It's also very obvious that the teachers adore for the children they care for and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

This is the 2nd year that my son has been attending to Durham Montessori School & Daycare and we don’t have enough good words for this school. When our son joined, he barely knew any words in English. The teachers were so accommodating, patient and helpful with him. There is nothing more reassuring as parents when your child feels secure and happy. They are just incredible with the work they do everyday with the children.We love that DMSD has a true Montessori program. It is so structured; they have language, math, science & culture classes, etc. We are amazed how much our son learns everyday. Imagine our surprise when one day he came home naming Canada's province & territories and even continents while singing a song.Daily reports from HiMama App and especially weekly photos of my son just make my day.The classrooms are cozy and especially clean.I highly recommend DMSD and want to thank Nancy and all the teachers for the amazing work that they do.

Words cannot express how impressed I have been with DMSD. We have had the best experience (with no issues) for the last 5 years. Both of our daughters attended from the start of their opening and I am so glad that we chose DMSD as our care providers. The staff are incredible , caring individuals and everything is run so smoothly. I am so sad to be leaving as both my girls will now be in jk and sk, but they learned so much while they attended and my daughter going into sk is so ahead because of everything taught to her at DMSD. Her teachers are constantly impressed with her knowledge and behaviour and I know that DMSD played a huge part in that. I would highly recommend this centre to anyone and everyone and am so grateful to have had the chance to send my kids there. Thank you Nancy and all the staff you will be greatly missed!

Nancy, Nicole, and the rest of the incredible women that work at this establishment are just awesome! I visted 8 Montessori's across Durham and Markham before I decided on DMSD, as I wanted to be as sure as I could be about my choice. It's now just over a year later, and I've decided to compose this review as I sincerely feel like I can now speak from an honest and informed place.This childcare center is wondeful! I'm impressed by the rapport the owner has fostered with both my daughter and I, and the learning and development my daughter has demonstrated. She recently transitioned from the Casa 1 to Casa 2 classroom and though I was a bit anxious about the move, I was so happy to hear all was well. My daughter is wearing her mask without reservation, adapting to the learning, and connecting beautifully with her new classmates and teachers. This without doubt has much to do with the nature of the space and the consistency of the staff.I could go on and on for days about this space, but instead I'll simply say this; if you're hoping to be at peace while working , taking care of your other children otherwise, by knowing your child is safe, supported, and stimulated, look no further than DMSD! You will most certainly not regret it!
