I had a terrible moving experience, hoping that others will not make the same mistake that I did. I booked a cross country move from Calgary to Toronto after reading very positive reviews. The quote was much higher than other companies but I booked on the basis that I would be receiving my belongings much faster (I was wrong). The movers at both destinations were very professional and kind. That is about the only thing positive I have to say about the company.To start, I received my belongings almost two weeks after the last delivery date on the range of dates they gave me on the quote. My belongings were in Hamilton for a week of the two weeks, and they did not prioritize scheduling me even though my shipment had been significantly delayed at this point. I had to sit in an empty apartment after booking flights to make sure I arrived on time for the delivery. Also, the quote was $2000 under the real amount they charged me. I lost a monitor and was only given half the value of it back. I did not feel like a priority for the company and I had difficulty reaching the office to voice my concerns. I would not recommend this company for a move and would highly encourage looking at other alternatives. They do not prioritize late shipments and are difficult to work with.

I would not recommend using this company. We moved from Toronto to Vancouver. The movers themselves were great on both ends but the office staff is brutal. Three biggest complaints are:1) communication: no one answers their phone and it takes several days to get a response through email.2) estimates are totally inaccurate. I had a quote for $4000 for a very small amount of stuff. When move day came the guys had it all loaded up in 30 mins and the truck was barely filled. I then got an email later saying that our new price was $6500!! I’ve moved across the country 4 times previously and have never had pricing this inaccurate.3) they charged my credit card without my approval. This was for the $6500 above. Is that legal? I definitely wasn’t happy about it.

Hello everyone. To start off James, Ethan and Damion were amazing movers and they would be 5 star. After the Hamilton side pickup it went downhill. I’m begging EVERYONE that has used this company to look through your items as we are missing several boxes and bins including my wife’s bin of clothes but most importantly my sons trophies and medals PLEASE CHECK through your stuff cause my son is devastated his hard work has vanished. The move to Calgary with a “ coordinator” was a disaster! 14 days delayed finally told to me after going in there location and speaking with Adrian. He got the delivery moved up and shipped out ASAP but at a serious cost. Damaged furniture, lost items and a skid left behind in Hamilton. I was promised premium service on the Calgary side but I had to call managers for them to deliver “ everything” on the same day. Guys were polite and respectful especially under tight time restraints. I have been told what you want to hear but I would love them to know how horribly they have crushed a 14 year old boy by losing his achievements and what would they feel like if it was there child. a lot more to say but I’ll wait to review more once there is a conclusion to the lost items

Horrible experience. Communication skills are lacking. No one ever picks up the phone. They did start to respond respond quicker to my emails towards the last two weeks of my move, but when I have a problem I want to talk with someone not communicate through email! It took 1 month to receive my items. I was told two weeks. Then they say I was told one month. They found nothing wrong with how long I had to wait. One dept has no idea what the other is doing. I got different answers to the same question. When my items finally arrived, the boxes they packed were crushed and items are broken. Fragile items were put on the bottom of other boxes. Some fragile items were tossed in a box with no protection. I’ve only just started unpacking and I have a 2 broken lamp shades, a broken shelf, a mixer that can’t be used, and shelves missing from a wall unit. I can hardly wait to see what I find tomorrow. Also, don’t let them arrange to move your vehicle. They charge for this service snd I’ve had nothing but trouble from the company they use. The were inept, rude, and returned my car with chips in the paint on the hood of my 2020 Corolla. And Now, I can’t get ahold of the claims dept.

Horrible! Now that I see another.review, I wonder if our stuff and theirs got mixed up (we had shelves show up here). It's highly possible with others as well after what we have experienced with them. They sent us extra beds, marked with our lot and they were.not all ours - I mean 3 extra beds (1 king, 2 queen full sets). There was a weight bench, weights, and others gym goods that were not ours, that were marked.as ours.I'm mortified as some of our lifelong momentos are gone. Furniture of ours is missing, and it created an infuriating day for everyone involved. If anyone who has stuff delivered by them is missing items, please see pics. You can try to trace it. The load went to Edmonton next. If you see stuff, or accidentally accepted stuff that is not yours, please contact the company..Pics of the broken wheels on my birds cages too, and other people's stuff that came with mine. Plus the damage to my buffet, which was uncalled for.The review has been changed because its been a poor experience since the first team who was good. Number 1 moved my stuff without telling me, which would have been fine if they properly packed the storage bin & it was stored alone as it should.be.The contracted driver they sent was rude & condescending. Bringing his daughter, all good, but have more help for weight that cannot be lifted by her. He was upset about it, yet admitted it took him and 2 other guys to put 1 item on the truck. A landscaping company helped to remove that piece. But things were not unwrapped once brought in that should have been. Blankets left all over stuff..We cannot lift the buffet, and the blankets are left under it as it was wrapped in full. I paid for take down and setup. There was no setup. The driver was abrasive and rude.His daughter on the other hand was kind, and she worked hard. She did pay attention & communicates well..She understands how to work with people, whereas he lacked being non reactive towards customers. His constant explanation that he is not Number 1 Movers, and this is a regular occurrence with this company he said. Number 1 said it would be them delivering, and it should have been, not unprepared contractors.I felt bad for the driver of the truck when their lift at the back broke down at the end. They were stuck, but it did get fixed.We want our stuff back, as I've seen other posts of people who didn't get all their stuff. I think its mixed up somewhere.Its caused added stress during an already difficult moveFirst review follows this, & sad they could not complete what started as a great review..I cannot say enough good about James and Marcus who came to get our goods. They diligently wrapped everything, and were fast to get it all done.While the time of our move was changed and we weren't notified, that wasn't their fault. That belonged to one of the ladies in the office for not communicating that to me. She had agreed to call me at 7pm the night before, and never did, but changed our move time without notice. While I understand the company is swamped right now, that miss did cause James, Marcus and myself a bit of chaos as the service elevator was in use by our building management for the first hour. But James and Marcus handled it with grace. I'm still giving 5 stars because Adrian was quick to apologize for the mixup & understood that did cause issues with the service elevator as I had it booked for the original arranged pickup time of 930am.Strongly recommend this company, and while we are waiting possession date, so far we are very impressed.Request James and Marcus if you're looking for 2 guys who will be incredibly careful with your goods. They treated our stuff like it was their own, were very kind and understanding of moving stress.Thanks to James, Marcus, Andrew, Adrien and another in office (can't remember his name) for being wonderful to deal with. We look forward to receiving our stuff & are happy thus far. Will update the review once we receive our goods at a tbd date.Cheers to all of you!!!

I was sold on this company by the expectation that they set with me. A coordinator to guide me through a stressfull time, professional teams to ensure my product was handled right. No Nonsense billing.My coordinator did nothing to help me. I had to reach out multiple times everytime I needed anything. I was 4 days from my move and she still hadn't reached out to me to confirm or verify anything. Communication is number 1 poorest service level I have ever received. The movers laid no carpet covers down, damaged my walls, left behind a couch because they couldn't get it out of a room another team got it in to. On drop off, my TV (which I paid to be boxed) was destroyed - thrown in an oversized box without padding, blankets, foam or protection of anykind. Tower fans, destroyed, Dining chair destroyed, large mirror tossed in an oversized box was destroyed. my boxes were so beat up they're not reusable, and my furniture is so scuffed it looks like no care was taken at all. I received at least 10 items of someone elses, and some of my stuff was not delivered. their LOT # system means nothing.After 10 days, I still have no response to my claims, and no answers on how to rectify all my damages or lost items.I have never been more dissapointed in a company in my life. Number1failure more like it.

The company confirmed that they could move the full contents of our house between two cities on a specific date. We were promised three movers. The morning of the move, they called to say that only two movers were coming and that they would be late. They also then revealed that they did not have a truck large enough for a single run and would need to complete multiple trips.From start to finish, they took over seven hours to load and unload only part of our house and would not have been able to do a second run on the same day. They offered to finish the job on a different day but never followed up to see if that was needed. Since we had to be out of our old home, my husband had to rent a U-Haul to complete the move. The company did acknowledge the issues on the day of the move and provided what they felt was a fair discount for their failure to deliver on what was promised.Following their departure, we noticed the extensive damage to our furniture. Contrary to the guarantee provided on the company's website which states that “we are using moving blankets, rubber floor mats and special equipment to prevent any damages to your house and furniture”; the movers failed to take any of these precautions. Consequently, our furniture was significantly scraped and scratched in transit. Furthermore, they badly damaged the railing in the home that we had sold, which required us to repair it prior to the new owners' arrival.We took steps to notify Number 1 Movers and were quoted a rate per pound for the damage to our belongings. We were also advised to provide photographic evidence to substantiate our claim. We complied with the request and have since made numerous attempts to contact the company to seek compensation and they have not returned our calls or emails. To date, we remain uncompensated for the damage to our property.

My husband is currently unloading our broken furniture from this company, we were charged $7800, quoted max $5500. Noting this was almost an $8k charge we thought our things would be cared for promptly and delicately. We did not receive our things for almost a month! If we knew it would have been delayed we would have packed completely different. I am absolutely devastated I used this company and am trying to keep this review short because an angry rant doesn’t solve anything, just do not use this company your things will not arrive on time, nor will they be protected, you’ll be charged a premium for no reason. Absolutely crushed.Nice try with the reply! Booking is under my husbands name Peter Furlan you are indeed the company

The worst moving experience of my life. I strongly urge people to choose another moving company.I planned a move from Alberta to Ontario. First of all, the estimate was reasonable I thought but as soon as the movers took all the items, the estimate increased by about 1000 CAD. I thought okay maybe it was more than what they expected. The next day this estimate increased by another 2000 CAD. Apparently, because I did not have a lot of heavy items they opted to charge me by volume which basically meant I had to pay double the initial estimate in price.Second, the estimated date of arrival was MAY 27. The delivery happened on JUNE 15. They were 3 WEEKS LATE on my delivery. Apparently, the trunk did not want to leave Alberta because it wasn't full yet. Communication during this time was horrible with little to no communication as to where my items were.The only good thing about this company is that the movers themselves were qualified and pleasant. Otherwise, I basically had to pay double their initial estimate for a shipment that arrived 3 weeks late (5 weeks total to complete the move).If you want to avoid the stress of moving, do not choose this company.EDIT - Just to be clear in terms of the price increase, my items ended up being less than what I had estimated. Fortunately, I still have both estimates and the final invoice which all include all the items and clearly show that the final invoice had 2 fewer items and all the other items the same.
