McDonald Photography

Jeff McDonald was the photographer for a body painting photoshoot I was apart of. Jeff fostered a creative environment and he was very easy to work with. He had solid direction for me, which was important as I am totally inexperienced as a model. But he did so in a way that allowed me to contribute to the process. He had excellent timing with his shots. And most importantly he made the other models and I feel very comfortable, which is Paramount for these types of shoots. Don't even get me started on the talent of his wife, daughter and the other painters they work with.It was an awesome project and I so look forward to working with them again.

Jeff normally shoots the performances and events for our theatre company, Sage Theatre.Working with Jeff has always been a treat. He is eager to find not only a great shot, but a great shot that helps tell the story of our plays and our community. His presence is seamless in the rehearsal hall, getting the shots he needs without intervention, which means that he wonderfully captures the honest moments we endeavor to create on stage.He's the first place I turn; he takes our good work and makes us look even better.

I booked a session with Jeff for fitness photography. I had never done something like this before, so I was quite nervous about it. Thankfully Jeff was a seasoned professional with numerous tips, recommendations and suggestions along the way. He was very helpful and supportive, his studio was very impressive and the shots turned out great! I can't wait to do another session in the future!

Awesome experience!! I hate getting my picture taken but Jeff was able to make it fun and relaxing. The pictures of my husband and I turned out better than I could have imagined because I usually take horrible pictures but he was able to capture some pretty amazing shots. McDonald Photography was the official photographic support for Bodyssey & Beyond 2016, A Convention for Face and Body Artists from all over the world, held at The Banff Centre and produced by The Canadian Association of Face and Body Artists. Jeff's superb treatment of the amazing Art created over that week was utterly fabulous, and his kind, calm approach with artists and models meant that everyone was happy to be in front of his lens....even the camera shy. He has a creative eye, able to catch reportage shots as well as studio stuff with humour and respect. I would highly recommend McDonald photography for anything from individual head shots or family gatherings to conferences and corporate events. He is easy to work with and his work captures the essence of those he 'shoots'. I very much look forward to working with Jeff again.

My name is Fredericke Lemieux and I had my maternity photoshoot with Jeff. Working with Jeff was amazing. He is such a good photographer and a nice person! The picture he took of me are just truly amazing. I never did a photoshoot before because I hate being in front of a camera but Jeff made me really comfortable in front of the camera. I always find myself ugly when people take picture of me but when I saw the picture that he took of me i was so impressed. I love them so much they look amazing. I have known Jeff for many years and have enjoyed watching his photographic skills develop over the past decade.He was already a skilled photographer when I did a photo session with him in 2009 - and his work has just gotten better over the years.Jeff has the ability to make his subjects comfortable while he captures images ranging from professional head shots to creative action shots with anything from samurai swords to parachutes.

We took our very young (and quite shy children) for a photo shoot at McDonald Photography and were thrilled with the results. Jeff and his team did an amazing job putting the kids at ease and even coaxing out a lot of their personalities. The resulting photos were stunning and we could not be happier with them.
