Canadian Coast Guard Station Kitsilano

These guys came out yesterday to help me out with an issue under the lions gate. These folks were fast, professional and there when we needed them.Thanks for being ready!

Good to have them back and expanding

All employees marginally annoying . I live in the apartment buildings across the water and watch them through binoculars . There is one really good looking guy there with a mustache , I heard hes a pro wrestler .... he can rescue me any day .

They saved my life.

The wind is howling BIG time ! I have just watched these amazing people rescue two boats that have either dragged anchor or the anchor line was somehow severed. People anchored of kits point think that they’re saving money. No moorage fees. It’s also no moorage fees when your boat gets blown onto the rocks but there is a cost. All the money you saved is not worth anything if your boat is scuttled ! And the main point is these brave people go out there and risk their lives to save your boat from sinking. Now I see the Coast Guard Zodiac is assisting another one of those boats. They are towing it to safely. That makes 4 at their warf.We can be very proud of the men and woman Who serve with our Coast Guard !!BRAVO !February 7, 2021 Big winds again overnight. Another sailboat lost its line to it’s anchor and very luckily blew up onto sunset beach missing the rocks. The coast guard waited till just before high tide and came to the rescue. They make it look easy but ... I hope those rescued boat owners pay for your services ! Spend some time at the boat launch next to the Coast Gaurd station and will see why they are needed! There are a lot of amateur boaters that aren't always prepared for the ocean. The station is located in the Burrard Inlet next to the Burrard St Bridge on the Vanier Park side. The Canadian Coast Gaurd works within the Oceans and Fisheries Canada and is responsible for environmental response, security and sovereignty of our coastal regions, search and rescues,removal of hazardous materials and ice breaking missions.Open in the summer months, you have Bard on the Beach and BC Waterbikes in this immediate area.
