Gerick Cycle and Ski

Went in totally clueless wanting to get set up with xc skis. Was helped immediately and got set up with a great set that was affordable and included a free lesson! Said lesson was super fun, helpful, and just one step beyond what I’d ever have expected for just buying skis. Great experience.

This review is a little overdue. However I wanted to leave one anyway. In June 2017 Ryan went above and beyond to ensure I purchased a bike that was the correct size. The bike I purchased is somewhat of a niche bike, a Surly ECR, and they did not have one in stock. Ryan went the extra mile to ask NRG, the Surly distributor for Canada, if he could borrow the bike I wanted from one of the NRG staff. He had it delivered to Gericks for me to test ride. I ended up going with a medium frame vs a small frame and am completely happy I did after an 800km bikepacking trip through the Kootenays and Okanagan. I never once was uncomfortable on my bike. Ryan did all this while helping other customers and even helped ensure the proper fit before my long adventure. I am sure I will have many adventure to in the future with my Surly ECR. The Blackburn Outpost bags were also purchased at Gerick's. Thanks Ryan.

Got chatting to Michael in store about some of the local skis he is a fan of. We bumped into him the next day, and went for a short tour & he recommended I see Ian about my boots. Ian, was super helpful & friendly, he was very aware of the issues I was having.

I recently purchased an e bike from Gericks. Matt was excellent. Great service all round from everyone there. Matt spent the time with me to understand my needs as a rider and educated me with my options. I love my bike! Thanks!!

Stopped by here a few weeks back looking for a new pair of snowboard boots. Turns out Gerick's don't stock snowboard boots, but chatted to Matt anyway about the issues I was having with my current boots and knowing there was no sale to be made (How could they, they don't even sell snowboard stuff), he sat me down, measured my feet and gave me lots of great advice on what to look for in terms of fit and size, as well as some great information on footbeds and how to improve fit and performance overall.I went away, bought some boots online (the right size, this time, thanks to the measuring), and then immediately took them back to Gerick's. Matt remembered me right away and was more than happy to do a custom heat moulding as well as insole fitting with the right size for my feet and arches. Super knowledgeable and friendly -- evident by the number of customers who came in specifically to see him during the short time I was there -- and really put the mind at ease.The boots fit great, and I know if I ever had any trouble or needed more help, Gerick's would be delighted to help. So, whether you ski or board, need some new gear or just some advice, I can't recommend this store enough. Thanks guys, for everything!

I recently purchased a new Nordic ski package from Gericks in Nelson. My experience as a customer was very positive. The staff was really helpful and provided a lot of expert advice regarding equipment options. They asked great questions and made solid recommendations. Some of the items needed to be ordered in. When I went to pick them up they were super busy but the owner took the time to personally help me get things sorted out. I love my new skis and couldn't be happier with the quality, performance, and fit.

This summer I had an amazing experience at Gerick Cycle in Nelson. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. The amount of bicycles they stock is amazing and I found a mountain bike in my price range and they set it up for my size too. I think that Gericks is the best Bike shop in Nelson!
