ICBC Driver Licensing

If you have to be in a Driver Licensing office, this one has shorter lines, friendly staff, and enough parking. Park in the correctly marked stalls whether it be road tests or general… if you park in another business stall, you may hear about it. Have your license plate ready when you walk in… or remind your son to plan ahead next time!

Some of the staff members are incredibly decent, nice, professional, they brightens you day! (Especially the one at the front desk giving you a number, she's always lovely) But few of them are shockingly rude, and obviously not good at what they are supposed to do. I am an Asian Canadian and was called 'you Chinese', I'm not even from China tho, when I was just trying to update my info to fix the mistake one of the staff members made before. I can't believe this happened. It's not 19th century anymore. I'm sad with these experiences and even more sad I have to go back there every few years to update my license...I really wish those staffs find more meaning and joy in their jobs helping people.

Going here is not really optional in our society so reviews are irrelevant.

I have a friend visiting from Australia on a 2 yr work visa. They went to this office on Metral Dr to switch over their license and was greeted with a very unfriendly attitude and continued to get very poor service. I'm really embarrassed and frustrated with this situation. If you work in customer service and can't be pleasant, stay home or find another job.

I’ve had 3 bad experiences in the past with the same lady here (while taking my N and full license), but was pleasantly surprised today when I was helped by two other different friendly ladies! I asked to switch examiners since I wasn’t keen on getting the same lady for the 4th time, and they kindly let me switch. The lady at the front desk, Kat, brought so much needed light to a place full of stress/anxiety. She was just so awesome + genuine and helped me calm my nerves before my full license road test. And my examiner, Helen was so kind and I was very comfortable and not stressed at all while I took the test! I enjoyed her genuine conversations. Thank you ladies for being great at what you do! Having a friendly examiner vs a rude/passive aggressive one makes a HUGE difference in test results because you’re destined to fail if their attitude/presence makes you uncomfortable/distracted. There needs to be more examiners/staff like Kat and Helen at icbc! Thank you again ladies, you really make a difference at this icbc location and you deserve praise!

If you dont want to ruin your day, ask for the guy there to talk he is decent and really very helpful and understandable. The one lady at the counter avoid her if you dont want to ruin your day. She said she wont serve me anymore because she dont like me, there was a old lady she ruined her day by saying dont come into personal space despite standing way far and behind the glass and she just wanted to ask for where she should go. Its very rude to see how some people disrespect the old people so easily despite seeing what stage of life they are in, and to be little kind to them would made their life so easy.

My driving instructor who I never got the name of (I believe too he niki) was the worst experience of my life, I did exactly what was the law and 360 checked correctly yet when I finished she said I didn’t when I did, I was marked for not shoulder checking before opening door (which I did) and when we finished she said I had a strong test and good driving but failed me anyway. Was so excited knowing I did very very well and she said I did but also failed me because she said I didn’t do things when I did. I think she wasn’t paying attention to my head/eyes enough during said moments and she even gave a quick giggle while failing me. Upset me so much. And I know she failed me for spots I did right cause she even told me where I had made the mistakes but that’s where I saw her looking in the whole other direction of me (not at her mirror on the window either). But thI reviews of this lady I believe too be niki she seems to be a real character. I wish they could realize this and give me my license so I can go back to work finally. Upsets me lots too hear not only I have had this issue but MANY others have too. Now I have too book for Squamish as that’s the nearest one date wise. I wish no one else has too deal with her. She also tricks you and makes you do things sporadically. She made me switch lanes too go back last second in an illegal spot. She asked me too change lanes mid intersection too which I did not do knowing it is illegal

I came in dreading the experience of getting my license back after a suspension. Once there I found out I had taken too long and would need to retest, both written and road exams!!The lady at the front could see I was disappointed, told me to hold on and had a quick talk with her co-workers, gesturing toward me. Just like that she made arrangements to do both tests, the SAME DAY! Within a 1.5 hours of walking in, I had both tests complete and left with my class 5 license.Great work from a great team! Thank you to all of you for not living up to the negative stereotypes!

It's awesome knowing now that the access centre isn't the only place to do licensing. And walk in too, appointments not required.Amazing super friendly staff as well.

Booked a time slot, and still made it out ahead of the booking. Timing and efficiency was perfect. Great Kat outfit as well, helps ease the tension levels
