Estey's Fish & Chips

This is my favorite restaurant. The best fish and chips period. I would request this as my last meal.Update, still the best.

Brings back old memories... I love that it has stayed the same for over 40 years . That I remember.

Great as always ... the fries could use some tweaks compared to the first time i went , but fish is always great (in my own experiences)It is a 3h round trip that i do just for there fish...

Almost everyone told us to try Estey's as the best in town but we delayed thinking no tartar sauce was odd. I understand now, it's so good you don't want tartar sauce to get in the way of the phenomenal flavour of the fish.I'm a chubby lifelong foodie dude, I had fresh Pacific salmon fish and chips out of a combo convenience store/tackle shop/dockside fish restaurant in north vancouver which was an experience I'll never forget it was that perfect and the historical classic fish and chips from multiple world famous spots in England when I visited family there.......Estey's is in my opinion the 3rd best fish and chips IN THE WORLD after the one best place in England (can't remember if it was in York or Scarborough though) or Vancouver and is definitely the best in Miramichi without question.

We ordered the “large fish”. 8 generous pieces, cooked to perfection. No chips. Fish was moist and tender, batter perfectly brown and crispy.There are two rival fish & chips places here on the river. This was always our favorite!No tartar sauce at Estey’s. But they serve a hefty portion of white vinegar if you ask.So good!Some corrections to google’s “about page”Cash only, no debitPickup/takeout only, no eat inNo lunch, doesn’t open until 4pmPre-order to speed up your order. An institution in the Miramichi. It’s far from fancy. But it’s not supposed to be. Step back in time the second you enter. Debit machines or fancy packaging would ruin the appeal. It doesn’t change, nor should it ever. The best tasting, fresh, delicious fish I have ever had. Keep being you Estey’s!

Best fish and chips I've found so far in Newcastle/Chatham area! Best I've had in general since years ago at Hutches in Hamilton, Ontario. That's coming from someone who tries the fish and chips at every place I've been in numerous major cities across Canada.

Very kind people and incredible fries! It was around 10pm or so and I realized I hadn't eaten yet that day, so I found this place on Google Maps and decided to try it. I think they were almost out because it was so late, but they still packed me up a large serving and were so nice! My aunt and I could have eaten a whole bag of those fries they were so good lol
