Taro’s Fish

I’ve been a customer of the Sheppard location for many years. Since I was in the area yesterday, I decided to stop in for some sushi and check out the new location. While they store was still under construction to open the dine-in area, it was still neat and organized. There was a great selection of salmon, tuna, and other fish & seafood. We ordered the Deluxe Sushi set (to go since the dine-in area wasn’t open yet - it looks like they will have a few tables on a patio once everything is done). The Deluxe Sushi was spot on! Will definitely be visiting again in the near future.

Newest location was a former pub. Looks like there'll be dining soon too.

The third location of Taro’s Fish opened up today in Markham at Woodbine Avenue and Steelcase Road. This will be their primary processing facility, with fresh fish being sent out to their North York and other Markham locations. The space is bright and airy. The main entrance is accessible from Steelcase Road. There are wheelchair accessible washrooms on site.Fish is available for purchase by weight (saku), which can then be cut into slices for sashimi or diced for poke. There is an additional charge of $3 if you wish to have your fish placed on a bed of sushi rice with ginger.A limited number of pre-made rolls, chirashi, and donburi bowls are available. They also have some shrimp tempura, vegetable kakiage, and plenty of frozen goods on hand as well.They are open from 12-7pm for takeout only for the time being. Last call for ordering from the kitchen is 6pm. Dine in option will be available in the future.

They’re open but not ready for dine-in with no ETA. This should’ve been advertised somewhere as people come in groups expecting to dine in. Fish are fresh but they come at a steep price.

Came in to get some sushi and sashimi , it’s very spacious and clean inside. No any fishy smell at all, they also sell some Japanese grocery on shelves. Because of the freshness, this place is not cheap though. They do have a seating area , but is not open, most customers were for take outs

Slice my fish please! Great concept, you choose from the fridge, and the chef at the open kitchen will prepare wth a nice presentation for takeout. Mindful that you might spend a small fortune, the fish is fresh, and staff is friendly. The staff are pre-occupied by their assigned duties, it would help if one of them works the floor to suggest and answer questions. I was lucky, chef was nice enough to join me at the fridges to explain how I can choose Chotoro. Open space, the presentation is elevated, and Taro’s fish is on the expansion mode. I have been their customer since Taro established the Sheppard location.

Always have been a fan of their original store on Sheppard. So happy to see they expand and have this huge store here in Markham. Fish and rolls are always so fresh. Highly recommended.

New store, spacious and clean. Nice staff, good service and good Fish

Taro’s new location is so beautiful and spacious! The amount of selection is absolutely vast, ranging from Japanese desserts, freshly made rolls, grilled fish, various drinks and of course, their amazing fresh fish and seafood.The staff are kind and warm to not just myself but other customers I saw walking into their new location. They even have a new dine-in area that’ll be opening soon, so I can’t wait to come back and experience it!

Taro Fish's 3rd location!!!I can say, Taro Fish offers the best sushi and sashimi in the GTA! Because they are the seller of the high quality fishes to most of the Japanese restaurants. Japanese owners, Japanese staff, high quality and politeness. It's like, you went to Japan in Toronto.This location will have dine-in! How wonderful! So looking forward to having a lunch there!
