got abused for 15 years by my biological parents, self harmed and attempted suicide, and my social worker told me i just had to deal with it for a couple more years". the only reason i got out of that home was because i refused to go back. still

Imagine reaching out to an organization that was created to protect children, only to your horror you discover that they actually make things WORSE. Please consider yourself warned—if you care about the person you’re calling CAS for, please find an alternative source of support because in my experience with these people, they actually do more harm than good. My heart goes out to all the children that have suffered because of adults who mocked their pain and sent them right back to the place they’re being abused. Just awful.

Always reaching for things that are not there. Maybe they should focus on families who actually want their help. Nobody should be talking to unaccompanied minors regarding legal issues

Currently a foster parent, and when I have concerns about what happens with the kids non of my concerns are taken into consideration.. I get laughed at and told there's nothing to worry about..

They are a very helpful resource. It looks like an interference in one's life but my experience with them in total was very good. Absolutely no help. You or your children have to be in the hospital after being beaten, for them to care. If you’re lucky.Only “talk to” , to other party/parent and absolutely nothing gets accomplished. Don’t care about mental health and don’t have any real supports or assistance with anything. Support the abuser and back up them up. Save yourself time and look elsewhere. They do not care about children.

I'm going to leave a review based on something not child related.When my sister and stepdad were renting a room, a worker said they would take the family cats-temporarily- and have them be fostered until they had a better home.Better home comes along and apparently there's a new worker and no paperwork or trail of where our cats were. I was in college and had no space, and we're all heart broken at our family pets being missing.We called and asked and got we'll look into it" with no response whatsoever.An absolute failure at proper paperwork and communication."

These people have more power to mess up your life than the police... And if you manage to make one of them mad, they will try their hardest to do so, regardless of whether or not it is justified.Never sign anything they ask you to without a lawyer looking it over first, my ex and I did and they were involved with us for years, then we got lawyers and pretty quickly thereafter things changed for the better.Be very careful whom you trust, some workers are very reasonable, but some make instant judgements and try to railroad you.It would have been nice if someone had warned my ex and I about this fact.
