Very helpful, friendly and great selection.

Needed to get a good walking shoe and was so great full for the help I received today at The Shoe Place. The gentleman that helped me was extremely knowledgeable. I also ended up buying a blundstone boot.Thank you for the great service

The staff were so quick to see if I needed help and made sure the shoes I picked fit me correctly. They grabbed me a second option in shoe sizing without me even asking (which ended up being a way better fit). Even at the checkout they were so friendly and excited for me

When I walked into the store this afternoon, I was not greeted by the 2 women standing at the counter, but rather they rolled their eyes at me like I was an inconvenience. I told them that I needed to try on a pair of shoes, one of the women asked me if it was for Christmas, and I said yes. She then asked me if I was buying anything today, I said no my family wanted me to try these shoes on to ensure they were buying the right size. The woman then said yeah we don't do that here".... okay? You don't let people try on shoes so their family can later buy them at this location and make sure they are the right size... will NOT be returning and definitely telling my family to buy them somewhere else. Will not be recommending this place to anyone."

Staff was so friendly! The lady that helped me was very knowledgeable. Bought my first pair of Blundstone's, the sizes and style vary and she was extremely patient, She made sure I was satisfied with my purchase....I will definitely go back they have a great selection.

Huge Rant!! The Shoe Place in the Thames Lea Plaza in Chatham has the worst customer service I’ve ever witnessed. I bought these Birkenstock sandals from there May 9th, 2018 for $139.99. The most expensive pair of sandals I’ve ever purchased, but I was told nothing is more comfortable to wear when pregnant. And they are very comfortable, not denying that. I was happy with the purchase until I realized they were cracking. July 10th I took them back to the store and was told, “no problem, we will glue them, come back in an hour.” While I wasn’t happy with this “solution” I agreed. I picked them up later that day and they were glued. I’ve been wearing them since and noticed they’ve cracked again, in the same spot. Surprise, the glue didn’t work! I went back to the store today, spoke to the owner, Tom I believe his name is, and was told it’s “a point of flex” and there’s nothing wrong with them. I said if this is a common issue with this style I’d like to exchange them for a different style. He refused, said the best he could do was give me 20% off a new pair. He was very rude, blamed me for the way I walk, and asked me to leave the store. Even went so far as to hold to door open for me. I was never rude, never swore, didn’t lose my cool. Just kept stating I couldn’t believe this is how he treats his customers and that if I had known that style had an issue with cracking I never would have spent $140 on them!! I’ve never been treated so badly anyway! He was completely unreasonable, wouldn’t exchange them or give me a refund, just kept saying he couldn’t help me. His final offer, as new customers were waking in the store, was half price on a new pair. Are you kidding me? How about you stand behind the product you sell and focus on making your customers happy!! My request is not unreasonable. Birkenstocks are meant to last “forever”, I just bought them in May! I left the store shaking and so upset to have been treated that way, that I cried in my car for 10 minutes before I could leave. Needless to say I will not be giving this store or its owner another cent.

Great selection and expertise. I keep coming back when I'm in town. My preferred shoe store and I don't live in this province.

I went in with my 4 year old to look for new shoes and was told my son couldn’t be in the store with me by two different employees within the first 2 minutes of walking in. I left feeling upset and embarrassed by the way they treated my son (who was sitting quietly on the bench beside the door) I prefer to support in person stores but I will not be supporting this one.Be better to your customers, mothers should be allowed to shop in your store without discrimination.
