Saint Elizabeth Health Care

I am deeply disappointed and very concerned in the care provided by Saint Elizabeth Health Care (SE Health) in Peteroborough, Ontario.My mother has end stage COPD and is in palliative care. She requires assistance with daily living tasks on a timely basis (early morning) or else her health suffers for the remainder of the day.My mother lives in retirement home where 3 meals are served a day, with breakfast being at 8:00 AM. She cannot dress herself to go to breakfast, return, undress, and then wait for a caregiver (PSW) to arrive at whatever time they please and assist with a shower and get my mother dressed. Dressing twice a day compromises my mother's symptoms. The nature of COPD is such that activity is extremely limited and exertion leads to tremendous discomfort and anxiety.My mother has been under the care of Saint Elizabeth for 6 days now. Not one appointment scheduled was held at or even close to the time we were given. On one occasion Saint Elizabeth called to inform my mother that no one was available to visit. We were told that specific times would not be made available and that my mother had to take what they offered.Saint Elizabeth called last night and provided a time of arrival for the PSW and was late beyond measure, and without so much as a phone call. Other times my mother was informed by the night PSW when the morning PSW would arrive. Again, arriving hours after the time given. My mother has gone without breakfast for several days, waiting for the Saint Elizabeth PSW to arrive to help her bathe and dress. This treatment of my mother, who is in palliative, is unconscionable.My mother has had to take anti anxiety medication as a result of Saint Elizabeth's shoddy assistance. This is not care.I understand that there are others who require assistance, but some need to be seen at specific times for various reasons. Saint Elizabeth is disorganized and uncaring to the needs of their clients, and I fear for what will happen with my mother once I return home as she has no one else to look after her.I do not want my mother's final days to be compromised by so called care givers that do anything but give care. Would this be acceptable care to you for your mother who is at the end of her life? No one should accept this.

Horrible service. Scheduling is completely erratic. Constant no shows. Incredible that this company can actually keep operating.
