Easily the worst business I've ever dealt with. Not only are they extremely rude, but they also informed me 4 days before an event that they raised the price of our tent rental by over $1100. I even had a signed contract with them from months earlier which they decided to completely omit. Stay away.

I too wish I had read the reviews before renting here. I had 1 day to split 4 cords of wood. I rented a splitter from these guys, the desk staff service was good the splitter was not. It leaked hydrolic fluid, worked at 3/4 speed compared to other splitters I've rented and the plate at the bottom of the splitting head was so worn it would dig into the bottom of the log. Half way through the day(and half way through my wood) it broke down. I returned it expecting some sort up compensation because of the above reasons but instead was aggressively confronted by the owner and blamed. He kept saying the customer always blames the equipment! Leads me to believe it happens to him a lot. Do not give this rude and unethical person your business he does not deserve to prosper off your money. There are many other rental places with better equipment and service.

I've never been ripped off as bad as I have by Howard at BV tools. If you could give zero stars I would. The most recent was when I rented a 1000lb packer to use on my driveway I phoned on Thursday to ask if there was one available and he said yes. So I asked him if I picked it up Friday would they be open Saturday so I could return it...he said yes...once I picked it up at about 10:30am he informed me they are not open Saturdays and told me he must have thought I wanted it Thursday... I asked what happens if I don't have it back by closing time he says extreamly rudly you pay for the whole weekend" so I agreed to bring it home and use it as fast as I could and return it before closing time... as I got it home I began using it not realizing for about an hour it wouldn't drive forward or reverse (first time I'd used one) so I brought it back right away. He asked if I wanted another one and I said no because I wouldn't have it back in time and didn't want to pay for the whole weekend to use it a few hours... so he STILL charged me full price 208$ and charged me for 2L of desil fuel after I filled it up before returning it... I will absolutely never go back there because things like this have happened more then once and I would warn anyone els to never waste their money there!!Worst service of any store in my life!!!"

BV tools is that home town father/son shop and you can feel it as soon as you walk in the door. Howard and Jon are there to help. And if one of them doesnt smile or laugh or crack a joke while you are there then gather your things and head for the hills because it must be end times! Great prices on everything. Never in my life have I experienced a salesman talk me down to a cheaper model of something because I was over-killing it. But these guys will. Its not all about the money at BV. Highly recommended.

Years ago, my friend out of town came into town to stay with me. He noticed a spot in my home that needed some repair work and offered to do it for free. Of course he didn't have his tools on him; him being not from around these parts. He rented some tools and one of them just happened to break on him. Guy wanted $800 for the broken chop saw. It was a extensively used tool. How do you not factor in maintenance, usage, and breakage into your rental fees? My friend decided to pay it, but you're better off buying something from a hardware store then reselling it on facebook market place. If you are the unlucky soul to rent a tool at the end of it's life cycle and it just happens to break on you, be prepared to buy this company a new one.

It's always a pleasure to do business with this establishment and I always find there prices to be very competitive...

Strongly Rx - go elsewhere!!!My lawn mower was skipping a lot. My boyfriend cleaned the spark plug and the air filter and still no change. I wish I read the reviews before my boyfriend took my lawn mower down there. It took forever - did not even look at it after 1.5 weeks. I did tell them no more than $100. Well, I don't know but I am quite sure that a repair person would know exactly what needed fixing when he started up the mower and realize that it would cost more than $100 and give me a call. But NO... they instead changed a clean spark plug - that was clearly not the issue, and they also put a new air filter in - again - not the issue. When my boyfriend picked up the mower, he was told that the mower would eventually need a new carburetor kit which costs more than $100 - which was the problem. Why was the other unnecessary stuff done to it? Naturally, my boy friend assumed that it was fixed, because they said they got it running and he brought it home and NO CHANGE in how it ran. Both myself and my boy friend tried talking to Howard the manager to no avail. First on the phone - he hung up on us and when we went down there he went into another room and was very rude! He would not discuss the situation. So he charged me $62.41 for basically just getting money and for not repairing anything. If I could give a rating in the minuses, I would. What a dishonorable, disrespectful man with a huge lack of integrity which is reflecting very bad on the business!

Speaking with Karen was an absolute pleasure. She was reassuring and prompt when it came to answering my questions. The table and chairs we rented were excellent and BV tool was relatively flexible in ensuring our access to the rentals. Much appreciated

I was trying to rent a tool on Friday afternoon and was told the policy was to charge a rental fee for 3 days.I was only in need of the tool one day, but as they were not open all weekend I would have to pay to store their equipment.Trowel X and United rentals have a much more forgiving policy along with excellent customer service.
