Alpine Sausage
We get our chicken and chicken and turkey sausages here. They are so good. The chicken tastes like it did before factory farming. I'd pretty much given up on chicken until we tried the Hutterite chicken at Alpine. This is the place for Danish items, including lots of candy. The proprietors are friendly and helpful. I look forward to shopping here.

Rye bread, frikadeller, and liver pate are unmatched to anywhere else. So glad I found a real Danish store right here in Calgary! ❤

Few days ago picked up a pack of wine chorizo and found out it looked and tasted as plain chorizo. Called them about it and went back to the store told them that's not wine chorizo! You guys totally ignored my claim as if I'm crazy and said We been making it like this forever". Oh wow... when customer is telling you there a problem with your food either mislabeled or some else liked you changed your recipe

This is the only place to go for authentic Danish deli items as well as any of your meat needs. Top quality and incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, you won't be disappointed

If you want an interesting cut of meat, this is the place. They are one of maybe 2 or 3 butchers in town that regularly stock certain rare cuts like hanger steak, flat iron steak, or skirt steak, and they sometimes will do special orders. I once had a big order of blood sausage prepared for me!They tend to consistently stock certain cuts that box stores do not, like full briskets.Prices seem to be better than most specialty butchers, and prices are not much differenty than box store prices, so it doesn't hurt your wallet to choose them. And I have had some great deals at times where the prices were much less than I would be able to find anywhere else. And their quality is consistently good! Not sure where they source their meat, but I don't think that it is one of the big meat-packing plants, because they get cuts like skirt steak that other butchers do not have access to (I hear that some cuts get removed for ease of processing, and never make it to butchers). I'll ask them about that next time I go.Everything they sell is vacuum sealed, which is great, because it makes for easy freezing. I do a lot of sous vide too, so something pre-sealed is lovely.I have discovered a lot of interesting things here, like a few types of dry salami. I am writing this review partially because the only fresh skirt steak they had in stock was a marinade (normally I just use salt), yet I was extremely impressed when I tried it. There are a few other odd cuts I was introduced to here too, so they have definitely broadened my carniverous horizons.Anyway, this is a great butcher, and good *real* butchers are rare these days. And unlike other specialty butchers, they are not a pretentious hipster joint with fancy branding and 50% markups vs box store prices. Just nice people and good meat!

Awesome staff. Knowledgeable and professional. Food quality is amazing. Stumbled upon this place, and I’m glad I found a hidden gem. Dry aged ribeye and briskets were fabulous. This will be my go-to steak shop. Can’t wait to try the sausages as well. Definitely will repeat as much as I can!

Butchers make weisswurst their own way, so I was delighted to find Alpine Sausage weisswurst - it is the best I have had in Calgary imo. Times on Google are not correct. Voice recording says 9am open but I am here 940 on Friday, and still closed.

Been going here for years. They still do a lot of in house smoking, butchery and aging of cuts. They make a wonderful pate that you take home to cook and of course have a great selection of in house made sausages

Always my first choice for Salami's, Sausages, Meat Sticks, Licorice, and now Cheese!Staff always very friendly, Janeen top notch at guiding you to correct cut of meat or cheese & what to pair it with. Wine Chorizo & Hot Landjaeger awesome, Andouille sausage best I've had yet (and I've been searching for years). Great selection of Dutch Licorice & Haribo. And for the price conscious, Alpine's Salamis $1-$2 cheaper per 100 grams than anything you'll find packaged at your grocery. And it's more natural and leaner.Community conscious family company.Love this place.
