Eric is a butcher... he has treated me with 4 expensive painful prolotherapy sessions promising that it will definitely subside the back pain but in fact the level of pain went up and then he was unreachable when I tried to contact his clinic multiple times... just wanted to know the cause of the increased pain...

Eric’s knowledge of chronic pain, anatomy, the importance of comprehensive treatment and use of ultrasound for finding problematic tissue is unparalleled in Canada. He is also passionate about helping people and will work hard to ensure you feel comfortable and if you are an adequate candidate.PRP and Prolotherapy can save many from surgery and chornic pain. Many studies support this, however, where these treatments can fall short is due to lack of precise placement of the injection and comprehensive treatment. Many practitioners have jumped on the bandwagon of using PRP and Prolotherapy, but very few understand how to maximize effectiveness and the best protocols. Details matter for best outcomes, and Eric follows the best available scientific evidence.Eric has helped me with many many injuries over time, we are lucky to have him in Calgary.

A remarkable practitioner with insight beyond the scope of other medical professionalsRe: (Foot ligament laxity- Posterior Tibial Tendon Tendinosis)I was a competitive barbell athlete throughout my 20’s and mid 30’s, mainly competing in powerlifting. Over time, issues with my left foot prevented me from continuing to lift any weight and I had to come to terms with the fact I could no longer compete or play sports that in any way loaded my foot.As my problem worsened I saw many practitioners (podiatrists/ physiotherapists/ chiropractors/ doctors) but could not get the injury under control. The general opinion was that my foot structure was ok, and I could use my orthotics to manage my issues. However, my pain continued and became more severe, I could no longer load the ball of my foot and it got to the point where walking became a problem.Initial imaging showed normal bone structure, but ultrasound uncovered posterior tibial tendinosis at the navicular insertion. I did PRP injections and rehab, changed orthotics several times and was referred from practitioner to practitioner who all said my foot structure was sound and I should have already recovered from this injury. Eventually, I started working with a physiotherapist in Calgary, who determined I had significant ligament laxity in my left foot, which was then causing the posterior tibial tendon (and other musculature) issues I was experiencing. She referred me to see Eric Lavoie to get his opinion.Eric assessed my foot and was able to confirm that my spring ligament and cuboideonavicular ligament had substantial laxity, which explained my other symptoms well. With Eric, I immediately started a schedule of prolotherapy injections into the lax ligaments. Eric also found that the MRI and ultrasounds previously completed were of limited value to my case, as they were always completed under static conditions. Eric was able to manipulate (load) the foot and view the structures, confirming the ligaments that were causing me the most problems. For me, this gap in the medical process caused me years of grief and pain, and Eric was able to identify the root cause and provide a real course of action. After four treatments of prolotherapy with Eric (each one month apart), I have regained much of my foot function that was previously lost. Walking is not an issue at all and the stability in my left foot feels ~50-60% better. A recent ultrasound shows my posterior tibial tendon is thickened, but otherwise healthy (no active tendinopathy). I have been able to resume some of my training and am optimistic about doing more training if my foot continues to progress at current rates. My foot has made more progress in the past 4 months with prolotherapy than any of the other modalities I have tried in the last 5+ years. I found that the prolotherapy shots repeatedly administered had a far greater effect on my ligaments than PRP - or anything else I have tried. This is almost certainly due to Eric’s expertise and ability to understand ligaments and tendons better than any of the other medical professionals I consulted during the course of my foot treatments.Eric Lavoie has been instrumental in this process and I will be forever grateful for his expertise. I am lucky to have been referred to him and would recommend him to any other person who is looking for a way to resume the activities they once loved, who are limited by tendon or ligament issues. Thank you Eric.

The most compassionate, present and attentive health practicioner I have ever encountered. Through years of chronic pain I have tried everything and only wish I had started with PRP and Eric sooner. While needles are never fun, his thoughtfull approach and excellent bedside manner makes it such that I have returned 3 times and will be back for more. PRP is proving much more effective than I expected in both range of mition and pain management.
