One of the favourite restaurants in the town. Excellent experience at this sushi bar, gourmet food, awesome services! Chef is conversable, I sat at bar counter, chef was sharing his cooking experience. If you hang out on Osborne St, worth to try it!

Food is awesome! I like sushi and sashimi most. Must have a try. The chef was very kind, introducing the background of the food ingredients to us. It is a treasure restaurant! Will come back soon.

We were a bit skeptical upon walking in because there was no one except for our table. It took a while for our food to come. However, when we tried the food — I was delightfully surprised as it was so delicious! Would definitely order here again. The dynamite roll was *chefs kiss*

This is a must try and top-rated sushi restaurant in Winnipeg!!! The food is extremely delicious and surprised me at my first bite. All my friends are satisfied with the environment and service! I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu! 100% recommend to try.

Akindo Sushi Bistro
The rebranding of this restaurant to Akindo Sushi Bistro was a great step forward.The menu is extensive with some unique plates to try. The Spicy Kimchi Tuna was delicious, especially the fresh tuna and the serving size was about right. The Tokyo Fries were a highlight - the deepfried tofu had a great texture and the wasabi tartar sauce had a good amount of heat. The only feedback is the fries were a little too salty. The Fire Dragon Roll was a large portion and very tasty - the fired salmon on top was a great touch.The restaurant was quiet when we were there but we hope the business does well. The food was fantastic. The staff were endlessly friendly, attentive and helpful. The decor in the restaurant was also fun. We recommend this place!

Without any doubt, it is the best sushi restaurant in Winnipeg ever! Everything was so satisfying to us, not to mention that the service and food were awesome! Got the osbrone combo, various nigiri and 3 rolls in total with miso soup, each tasty and filling, making them well worth their $29.95 price, will be sure to back again!

We ordered 4 signature sushi rolls and beef teriyaki. The food was very bad, we had to throw half of the food away. For a bill that's close to $100, we expect really good sushi. The salmon and wild sockeye salmon didn't taste fresh, and one of the rolls had an unpleasant smell. The rice that came with the beef teriyaki seemed like it was cooked the other day and reheated. If you are Asian, you know what a freshly cooked Japanese rice tastes like and the one served to us was nothing close to tasting yummy. There was a sushi I ordered with tobiko, and I didn't see a single one in the rolls. I don't recommend going to this restaurant. We ordered food tonight for a birthday celebration, and it's the worst dinner that will be remembered.

Everything is sooooo delicious here. The sashimi and beef tartare are fresh and tasty. My favorite is deep fried foods and sushi. They served them in a good shape. I enjoy the atmosphere, food and service there. It is truly a gem in Winnipeg.

Updated review 4/5 March 1:We called before going and checked their Instagram, I do see they have made recent posts of warnings that they will be closed which is good! They answered the phone promptly and we made a reservation for two around 6:30pm. Our server was super kind and the food was really good. It is more pricey compared to other sushi restaurants, so that's why I'd give it a 4/5. But service is 5/5. The owners seem really nice and they provided sesame balls on the house. Really nice interiors and booths as well. Wasn't busy on a Wednesday evening!2/5:Was really excited to go for dinner here based on the ratings and photos, we tried calling the google phone number and the instagram phone number but no one picked up. However, we proceeded to go because the hours on Google and on their Instagram said they were open, so we figured they might have been to busy to answer their phones, which we didn't mind waiting. It was around 5:45pm and we drove all the way there, which to our disappointment they were not even open. All the lights were off and the door was locked.I do want to give a fair review and this rating will be updated when I actually try the food. But it wasted our time and gas, and there was no update on the Instagram. But pretty hard to want to go back if we are not even sure if they will be open.
