Mountain Animal Hospital and Mobile Veterinary Care

I was visiting Canmore for a vacation and hiking and my Golden doodle got very sick out of no where. They got us in quick and let me stay with him rather than the typical emergency visits where they ask you to leave the dog with them and periodically treat them throughout the day when they have time. Amazing experience with all staff and Dr. Nathan is amazing! Very thorough and efficient! Definitely appreciate this place and if I lived here this would be the vet I would use for my fur children!!

I cannot begin to explain how thankful for Dr. Nathan and his entire team. They have come to the rescue for my dogs twice and they even call the next day to check in on you and your pet.This team should be very proud of the level of care and compassion that they show to every single one of their patients.I cannot thank them enough!!!

The service we received here was impeccable! They squeezed us in last minute for our pup with grass seeds stuck in his paw, everyone was really friendly, great communication from the Vet on what they were doing and the nurses on the meds we left with. And they trimmed his nails too which were grateful for as we struggle with this at home. Thanks everyone for being so accommodating to out-of-towners!

Dr. Nathan and Danielle were exceptional! We had an emergency in Canada weekend while camping and Danielle made sure we got in right away. Dr. Nathan took excellent care of our Yorkie. Thank you so much!

I did not feel comfortable with with dr Nathan’s suggestion for my pet when we visited him. We have had this procedure done many times in the past, this is the first time we have seen this vet and the first time any vet has suggested sedating a dog to remove a dew claw.I decided to not sedate the dog and simply remove the claw the way we have always had a vet do it-No bandage was provided after the dogs claw was removed, and no meds other than an anti inflammatory injection were given.I spoke with my vet the next day and am relieved that I did not listen to dr Nathan with his suggestion of putting my dog under.Usually this is a quick and easy ( for sure pain-full experience for the dog) process and takes a total of a few minutes. I could not get a clear feel for dr Nathan and his personal suggestion on what he would do if it were his dog.Nathan was polite and respectful, short, (which is understandable given his career)-but doesn’t set the patients owners at ease.Fees are understandable as he has an emergency service after hours- which is awesome for situations like this, but I felt like after the base emergency visit price, it was how high could we get the price, and not so much concern for the actual patient.I appreciate dr Nathan’s service and am happy there is someone like him willing to work the long hours , but will not be going back to his practice again.

Our dog showed distressing signs of apathy, excessive drooling, and vomiting blood numerous times. We were unable to get in touch with other local vets but when a friend referred us to Dr. Nathan he responded very quickly and came to us in his mobile clinic. He had a calm demeanour and conducted an assessment, did a bloodwork test, took x-rays, and administered medication all at our home. He provided us with medication and instructions for care and urged us to contact him if our dog's condition worsened, which thankfully it did not. One of his staff members called us the next day to check in and make sure everything was still going well. Top notch service where Dr. Nathan took his time to explain was what likely happening and that provided us with peace of mind during a very scary moment. Thanks!

Dr. Nathan helped us say goodbye to our dear dog Truffle when it unexpectedly came to be his time. He was so compassionate, patient, knowledgeable and kind. He allowed us to say goodbye to Truffle with dignity and peace. We can’t thank him enough for his work and care.

If i could give 10 stars i absolutely would. This hospital is a blessing for the whole Bow Valley. The entire staff is amazing. Dr. Nathan is a animal hero, he saved my little girl!!!! And while i was a mental mess, Michelle at the front desk could've not been any more comforting, helpful and amazing. You guys are the best! Thank you

Thank you Dr. Nathan! We had a scare with our senior cat last night and he came out on an after hours call. I was really impressed with how much he could do inside that ambulance. All the blood work and urine analysis was done right there so there was no waiting. All the procedures my cat needed were all done in there as well. My cat doesn't do well with people and has bad anxiety but Dr. Nathan was so sweet with her and she relaxed very quickly into the appointment. We have definitely found our new vet. Overall, I highly recommend Mountain Mobile vet.

Dr. Nathan was great - I highly recommend his new service in town. Having a vet come to your door/home certainly reduced the fear that one of my dogs has of going to the vet. Dr. Nathan gave my dogs vaccinations and annual exams right in the comfort of our home. He wore his shield for COVID and it was nice to actually interact face to face with a vet instead of dropping your dogs off at the front door. He was friendly, professional and my girls were both very comfortable with him - maybe it was the fish treats :) Can't say enough good things. He wasn't in a rush and I was able to ask questions. Give him a try - you won't be disappointed.
