Went into the Cambridge bus station today bathroom doors were locked then I wasn’t given any privacy as the stall door was taken down . And all security does is sit in there little hut and on there computers and phones . I very rarely see them walking the parking lot .

Terrible company. Unprofessional and outright rude. Have met many people working for the company who are dissatisfied. If you are looking for a company with under trained and unqualified this is the company for you! They pay the bare minimum to the employees with no benefits. Only thing they look out for is themselves. If you hire this company you are a horrible person with no respect for the average worker who puts their own safety on the line for you company. The only positive reviews for this company are people who are scared to lose their job

I worked for Barber-Collins for a number of years before moving on into my current career. When it comes to security Barber-Collins is hands down the best in the area. The staff and management will do whatever it takes to get the job done. (Work crazy short notice shifts for a client, or travel to be at a certain job)I read the reviews on here and a lot are conflicting. I was always a guard that wanted to stand out in the company. I asked for extra training, to be moved to more difficult sites etc. They strive to make their guards more trained and versatile for other sites, and possible situations that may occur during a shift. A good example is when I wanted to be more experienced with crowd control, and Larry Wallace worked his magic and got me jobs dealing with crowds.I have nothing but respect for this company. The office always had an open door policy where they listened to anything you had to say. Overall if you want good security experience to better your future in Law Enforcement, note taking or just a casual job I wouldn't look any further than Barber-Collins.Thank you.

Security guard at the fairview mall station are insane. No train is coming and you cross the tracks they threaten to ban you for a day. I have a job I need to get to and this young kid thinks it's funny to threaten bans for crossing the track. Who do you think you are? What are you securing by banning me for a day for crossing track?

I am a photographer from the KW region and while I have generally had positive experiences with this company in the past. There have been two altercations where their guards have over-stepped their boundaries and tried to violate my rights.Yesterday, while walking down the public sidewalk on Columbia St. (heading towards the Columbia/Weber intersection) a Barber-Collins security guard who was parked in the adjacent parking lot, started yelling at me for taking pictures of the parking lot. Something which is not illegal, despite the parking lot being located on private property. Not only was there no signage to indicate that the parking lot was private property, but there is also absolutely NOTHING illegal about photographing private property from a PUBLIC vantage point (in this case the sidewalk I was walking on). This is something I learned in college by professional photographers and journalists. As well as easily found in a 10 second Google Search.Furthermore, the security guard appeared to be having a personal conversation with a friend at the time of the incident, the person he was speaking to had drove right through the entrance (onto the same private parking lot) and parked their car alongside the security guard. NOW I can't be certain that this was a personal conversation, however the visitor was not driving a Barber-Collins security vehicle and therefor led me to believe it was simply a friend of the security guard who wanted to talk to him.I would like this company to accept responsibility for this security guards actions at attempting to boss me around when I was not doing anything illegal or harmful to the property. To me, it seemed like a complete blatant abuse of power by a security guard who is either uneducated and unaware of the laws they're suppose to be upholding; or simply bored of guarding an uneventful parking lot, and was just looking for an excuse to flash the badge and yell at someone minding their own god damn business.Next time something like this happens I will not hesitate to call Police Non-Emergency and involve properly educated law enforcement.

Horrible company. Pays the absolute minimum they can. No benefits nothing at all. Treats staff unfairly using unfair labor laws to bully you and get what they want. Even after years of good work and no complaints. Watched many good guards get the run around while they keep people who can barely do the job. If you like to get walked all over and not complain this is the company for you. From personal experience I would not work for them nor hire them.

Wrongful termination : I want to share my experience with everyone who are reading my review. I worked for Operations Manager named Trevor Taylor at Cambridge Motor Patrol. I was terminated during probation without any reason. This guy kept on saying that he has the right to terminate me without any reason. On the night of 24th June,2021, I was working and driving the patrol vehicle along with second guard. After driving for 2 hours my back started paining and it was unbearable. So, I asked the other guard to drive but it was really difficult for me to even sit in the car. After bearing the pain for sometime, I contacted the supervisor on site. He was unsure what to do in this situation so he called the Operations Manager Trevor Taylor to verify. Trevor said that I can go home if the pain is unbearable and I will be paid for this sick leave because I was having 2 paid sick days left. After the permission from my supervisor, I left the site and went home to take rest. The next morning this guy Trevor called me and said that I am terminated from the company as I am unreliable. These people treat employees as number and did not care about anyone’s health. I have heard many more things from other employees regarding Trevor Taylor’s behaviour as this guy never use formal email and always calls his employees so that there is no evidence of what he said.I wasn’t given any fair opportunity to demonstrate my skills and ability. I have also covered extra shifts for other employees when they were sick or leave early but I feel my termination was done wrongfully and unfair. It was not done in good faith.
