Maren is very passionate about dogs. I have a 5 years old rescued dog and he is a very fearful dog, his fear sometimes turn into aggressions and I had this idea that I needed to expose him to all possible situations so he could get used to it, but Maren gave me the most precious lesson, which is prevention. With her help, I got a better understanding about my dog, and with the exercises she taught me, I really got to see an improvement. What struck me at Maren, was the fact that she was honest, she says dogs can not be fixed but rather most behaviors can be improved, and that is what happened to Marcos, every day that I go through I see how he is getting better. I'm so grateful to Maren and I really recommend her services.

Maren took great care of our mixed breed dog, Pip, over a period of 10 years when we went away on trips or long weekends. She combined her dog training expertise with her genuine love of dogs to provide a great experience for dogs in her care. A safe and comfortable home environment mixed with exciting hikes and exploration on the trails around Squamish.When we got our young Schipperke pup, Scout, he joined her puppy training class, which got him off to a great start in early socialisation and confidence building. Maren will be missed in the Sea to Sky corridor but we wish her every success as she starts her business in Powell River.

We have worked with Maren from Paw in Hand since our dog Penny was a puppy. First it was just basic obedience and puppy socialization. Recently, shortly after she she turned 2, Penny developed some behavioural issues with other dogs, and we immediately sought out Maren's help. After four sessions, we have already seen an improvement with Penny on walks. With the tools that Maren taught us, and also learning how to recognize Penny's body language, we are much more comfortable assessing the situation and knowing what to do when we meet other dogs. Our morning walks are much more enjoyable and it's really nice knowing Penny can safely play with some dogs again! Maren's enthusiastic attitude and huge knowledge base make her a joy to work with.

Maren has a great understanding of dog behavior and a common sense approach to your lifestyle and training needs. We got Luke as an SPCA adoption. He’s a two year old king shepherd and as we had no experience with the breed we thought we could use some help. Maren had excellent games and tips, explained why we were doing them and followed up often. She offered support on an ongoing basis and is very professional and knows her stuff! We will definitely go back later for a refresher!!

Maren is amazing! We are so thankful for all of the tips and tricks she has taught us, both about our dog and about ourselves.
