Tacos 101 and Fruta Libre

Great tacos and even better elotes and esquites. We ordered carnitas and nopales tacos and they were delicious, well served, with 2 tortillas each. The horchata was good and made from scratch not syrup. The esquites and elotes taste just like in Mexico or better. The tamales are tasty too and looked like gourmet ones.

My wife and I brought our daughter to Kensington market for our taco adventure. We started our adventure here and it did not disappoint. We tried a taco Al pastor, a chicken taco, and a Birria taco and they were all amazing packed with meat and the taco fillings. They were very generous with their taco meat and other toppings. Coming to Tacos 101 was the highlight of our taco adventure. The gentleman preparing the tacos was very friendly and recommended the Al pastor and Birria tacos. I also noticed some Mexican local snacks nearby where you place your order. There is a seating area. Not only did the gentleman recommend the Birria tacos but in addition he did mention that they specialize in the Birria taco, surely enough it was the best taco I had during my entire Kensington market taco tour. I’m definitely coming back here on my next visit to the Kensington area! I highly recommend you come here and try their food.

Not as great as expected. The portion of Al Pastor is too small for the price (6 bucks), and I felt that beef in the taco was a bit gamey, even though it was covered with the strong scent of cilantro. Mango juice was great, though!

Kensington & all the other stores makes it so fun to walk around the area. Tacos 101 and Fruta Libre is definitely one that I would visit no matter how full I am with the rest of the food I already ate around the block. I got the Al Pastor (Pork) & Carnitas. For dessert, Mango in a Cup with Tajin & Chamoy! I was very indecisive but they were helpful when it comes to making decisions and good recommendations! Very nice workers as well, accommodating and the authenticity.

Amazing and Authentic taste.Small place with few benches to dine in. I ordered chicken, beef and fish tacos and were all good and yummy. Must try mango with spices.Feel little on expensive side but food and service was fantastic.

Food was great! Loved the complimentary hot sauce they gave, really added a kick to the tacos. The tacos themselves were great too, although the meat was a little dry. Service was fast and friendly, and had a fun chat with the workers.

Man oh man was this amazing. They had cactus tacos and I’ve always wanted to try cactus. It was unbelievably delicious, the flavours were just pure perfect, sweet, tangy, spicy. The hot sauce is REALLY good, extremely spicy though. It went beautifully with the fish taco as it had the sweet mango and pico de gallo. Truly just absolutely delicious!!! Can’t recommend enough.

Amazing authentic tacos and agua fresca as per my partner and his father who are Mexican! They had solid vegetarian options too. Everything was fresh and delicious.
