Nice things in their store,but the customer service is not helpful!

Had a bad experience. Check everything over a few times before they put it in your cart.

Good breakfast place nice and clean and friendly staff. A lot to eat and hot .

Prices are a bit high, clerks are great, management is poor. I’ve been renovating my house little by little since I moved to town 2 years ago. I’ve purchased nearly all the material from this store and most of the store staff were very helpful and showed great customer service over the years, so this review is not about them.I needed to finish up some last-minute projects by Christmas Day, so I stopped by the Young’s Home Hardware 12 PM this afternoon to pick up some materials. After paying for my stuff, I realized I needed some doors for another project I’m doing in January so I went to ask about them.When I got to the Contractors desk, the owner and the owner’s son were quite rude to me when I asked for a flyer and some prices showing their selection of doors. I understand that the store might not have materials on hand on Christmas Eve, but a simple “sorry pal, we don’t have it right now but we’ll make a note of this for later” would’ve sufficed. Instead, the owner’s son got upset that I had “asked about an item with special pricing within 30 minutes of the store closing”. The store hours were listed as “Closing Early” at the till at the front of the store - but they did not specify exactly what time they close. I don’t see how you can get upset about that, if you don’t actually post a set closing time for customers to see. If anybody can show me “Closing Early” on a clock, I’ll take down this review and post one with 5 stars instead.I would’ve let this go if this were just any of the staff, but I won’t be talked to like this by the store owner or his kids. I would advise that anybody who reads this review should take their business to a place with better prices, a better product selection and better management.

The few times that I have been in, the staff members have consistently been fairly rude towards myself and other customers. The store almost never has what I'm looking for - even basics such as screws and nuts and bolts. Tried to stop tonight to pick up a hook and an eyelet and the lady at the door was extremely rude and told me that I had to call ahead in order to be able to purchase anything. Even though I was the only customer in sight, she refused to help me. I'm done with the Mount Forest Home Hardware. I'll drive to Hanover instead. Far better selection, and far less attitude from the staff members.

Pricey! A better selection than Canadian Tire for home improvement, but boy do you pay for it! Staff is numerous, but seems clickey. (You're more likey to get attention if you're a local than an outsider.)

Marty and his family and staff have worked very hard in this community to keep a top notch store, pricing, product, and ease of providing any type of service is the best. They are one of the leaders of this community helping charities such as crime stoppers, and sports clubs, independent contractors and more.Going above the call I'd say.Great to see you doing so well, all the best.
