Freeride is a bike shop by riders, for riders. If you head out to the local trails, it's hard not to bump into one of the guys from the shop. The owner, Chris, has been the leading trail advocate and developer in the area for years and his passion for the sport is unmatched. This experience shows in the products, service, and advice that are available.Freeride has a great selection of bikes available from entry level cruisers to the best bikes on the market. Customer service has always been excellent and they go the extra mile to make sure you can focus on having fun on your bike. Higly recommended. I always send my friends there!

Brought in 2 perfectly operating bikes thinking a service would give me a trouble free summer. Epic fail. 4 visits later due to chain coming off, gears hunting, back tire fell off, crank arm fell off, chain rubbing derailleur, and rear brakes not working. On the 5th attempt I called and said I've lost confidence in their ability and didn't want to make another trip in. Chris's arrogance is unprecedented and childlike. I asked for a refund and Chris hung up on me, very poor support. I've watched the Park tools videos and am in the process of repairing the damage they caused. They are now registered with Better Business Bureau in hopes to prevent someone else getting treated this way. Sloppy work and even worse customer service. Mistakes happen but 4 trips in and to be treated so poorly is ridiculous. That's my honest experience. Good luck folks.

No one gives more back to mountain biking in Newfoundland than Chris, the owner. Great service and advice from someone who builds trails and actually cares how much fun you're having out there! Not to mention that he stocks the best trail bikes out there.

Chris was spot on with his bike recommendation! His extensive riding experience and bike knowledge helped me to get the right bike- resulting in a huge smile on my face! The fast and helpful service was second to none.I've worked in shops and ridden for a long time and can confidently say that if you are in the market for the perfect bike (who isn't?) then give Free Ride Mountain Sports a call. Highly recommended!

I regret I read the reviews after I made the purchase, should have looked before. At least I am lucky I did not buy a bike from him. Bought a 180mm cartridge for a Fox 38 fork, it took Chris 3 months to send, he claimed he is out of stock etc....when I got it three months later, after many emails etc...it was the wrong part he sent out. He sounded like a nice person to deal with, what regretfully he proved wrong. I regret I trusted him. Will let PayPal resolve the issue.

Great shop centrally located in downtown St. John's. The owner Chris is very very knowledgeable and the trails and local scene were all built on his hard work over many years. Great stock of high end Intense mountain bikes and everything needed to go have fun on the trails.

I had purchased a used bike from Chris out of province (2019 yeti SB150). From the photos it looked like the forks had scratches on them but it was hard to tell. I had asked if there was scratches and was told no. When the bike arrived the forks were scratched as well Switch Infinity link. When the bike was taken out for the first ride I noticed multiple issues with the bike:- The front ring was mousing a tooth and had to be replaced- the brakes had to be bled and new pads installed.- The front fork leaked oil and had to be completely overhauled.- The switch infinity link clunks and needs to be replaced-- The pivots had the be replaced.I spent close to $8000 for the original purchase of the bike which I was told was in excellent condition. I have spent close to $3000 in repairs.I reached out to Chris and was told I got a good deal on the bike.”Chris has not been truthful with me throughout the buying process and the follow up discussion.I’m sure buying a new bike from freeridems is a different experience . My experience buying a used bike from them has been very disappointing."

I'm from Ontario and these guys gave me some good advice on the trails around here.Came in with a punctured rear tube, rubbing front brakes and left with a well tuned bike and only charged me for the tube! These guys take care of your ride like it's their own.Excellent
