Norman the salesperson was outstanding, he went above and beyond for us. I was stuck with a broken water tank and he came thru the next day setting us up with a tankless water heater. I highly recommend Imperial Energy. When I started shopping around for heat pumps and electric water heaters, Imperial was one of three HVAC contractors I contacted. Bruce at Imperial got back to me almost immediately. But unlike the other two contractors, he wouldn’t give me a price till he came out to look at our house to assess our needs. He came out the next morning, took a careful look around, and quoted me a system that was $10,000 less than the others I was speaking to. So, with no expectation of a sale (commitment-free visit), he spent an hour at my place describing the ins and outs of heat pumps. None of the other contractors did that. The others also told me I needed a cold climate system (the reason for the higher price). Bruce said I did not – instead, they installed an auxiliary unit on our heat pump that handles the colder days. So he could have tried to sell me a cold climate pump and charge me $10,000 more, but he didn’t. He also talked me out of spending $6,000 on a heat pump water heater, and instead got me to go for a tank electric water heater that cost $1,600. Again, talked me out of spending more money. Not many contractors would do that. He was also very patient as I worked through Greener Homes and HELP loan applications, again, taking lots of time to answer lots of questions before I signed a contract or made any kind of commitment. When I finally did sign the contract, the install was seamless. His team of two showed up on time, and got the job done on time, and on-budget (they were also super nice guys). The install had zero impact during the two days it took. I recommend Imperial to everyone I know who is shopping for heat pumps and electric water heaters.

Norman, the owner, took his time to call and come to my home to review all possible options. He was extremely patient and understanding and worked with me. I had been without a furnace for 2 months and very upset about another company’s negligence and refusal to follow up and fix a problem their employee caused, Norman showed compassion and was extremely professional. He took charge of the situation, explaining what went wrong and how they were going to fix the situation. He followed through with everything he promised to do and insisted on getting a new furnace installed immediately and booked the install on a Saturday, even though they don’t normally do that. The folks at Imperial Energy replaced my gas hot water heater with a new heat pump water heater on Nov.2, 2022. They did a superb job taking perhaps 4hrs to complete the project. The piping and wiring conections look professional. The work was a tad more complicated than most, because they had to integrate the heat pump with my home's existing solar water heater and drain heat-recovery pipe. I am very pleased with the finished product. Not sure whether Imperial knew this, but the City of Toronto has expressed interest to learn about my new system and thereby create and post a future case study. Way to go, Guys!
