First time visiting with a friend. Venue was lovely, the bathrooms were clean and vibrant.Loved that there was a focal point window at the end of restaurant to see through to the kitchen!Food was fresh and fast! Vegan options were available and any questions we had were answered by our amazing server Maggie!5 stars is underrated. 10/10!!

Gia Cantina is a beautiful Italian restaurant. The design is a mix of old and new which I love. If your looking for space to rent for an event or host a dinner you won’t be disappointed with the atmosphere. The service was decent. I have a gluten allergy and the waiter wen through the option with me which was nice. They even had gluten free calamari which was a plus - I haven’t went to another restaurant in Ottawa that serves this. The calamari was crispy and served with a creamy sauce which I enjoyed. Unfortunately I was disappointed with my main dish. I ended up getting the mushroom pasta and it was a good size but was lacking flavour. Another thing to take note of is there aren’t any gf desserts. Despite this, my friends ended up getting some of the other options on the menu and they really enjoyed them. Overall I had a good experience and am not opposed to returning again to try more options.

My friend and I tried Gia today for the first time, and we were both highly disappointed. First, they got my order wrong. I ordered a ricotta, farro and greens salad and I got only greens drenched in dressing. Secondly, the food was not great. The sweet peas arancini had zero taste. The smelts were fine, but way too salty. And, lastly, we ordered ahead of time and when I got there not only was our order not ready they had not even seen it so I was left to wait for 15 min. The service wasn’t great, they didn’t apologize for the wait and the mix up. Would not recommend.

Except the unfriendly reception/front waitress, it was experience. We had Spaghetti Carbonara and Eggplant Parmigiana Sandwich. They were tasty but a bit too salty for me. My friend like it a lot. Warm, cozy and classic atmosphere, we enjoyed a lot but it was super cold inside.

Ate here for the first time for a delicious brunch meal after following them on Instagram for a few months. It was worth the wait but I wish we went way sooner! We know we will be back to try out their dinner menu soon.Food was delicious, the tempo of the meal was relaxed but not slow by any means. Had the ricotta and fruit toast, crespelles and eggs Benny. The atmosphere is excellent and we gushed over the decor the whole time we sat and ate! I even loved the bathroom fixtures!What a beautiful spot. Can’t wait to be “regulars”.

After hearing countless good things, I finally came here last weekend with my fiancé for dinner and we LOVED it!The service was friendly and the food came fairly quickly. I had the creste rigate and sausage pasta (pictured) and my fiancé had the pappardelle and lamb ragu pasta: both were delicious & portion sizes reflected the pricing well.The restaurant is small but stunning, and has the perfect atmosphere for a date night.Definitely recommend trying & make sure to book FAR in advance!!

We sat at the bar and the bartender helping us was incredibly friendly and informative. The food was delicious and a substantial portion. The seating was a little crowded and it was hard not to bump into other people, but other than that the restaurant is beautifully decorated.

Had brunch and everything was tasty. The waitress was amazing and everything came out super fast. She kept bringing us more new sharing plates and cutlery. The pancakes were sooooo good!!!!! Highly recommend!!
