The Refinery Hair Lounge

This was my first time at this salon and absolutely love it. Stylist Amy did my hair cut, giving me a wonderful style - for my difficult thick wavy hair. Amy is a great listener who is highly skilled at cutting and styling even the most difficult hair! She gave me a style that is suited extremely well for me, my age, my hair and my lifestyle. I highly recommend this Salon and Amy. This is now my one and only salon!

I had such a great time at the Refinery today! Jessica was so friendly and made me feel so comfortable right away. The Refinery is a beautiful salon and I loved the little things like being offered a coffee when I arrived and the fact that there were two cute dogs to pet while getting my haircut! I felt very well cared for and loved my experience at the salon. I will be back for another haircut soon!

I have been getting regular colors and trims from Jessica at the Refinery for a few months now. She is so kind and personable and very thoughtful with including me in the process of picking the perfect color and explaining pros and cons to me. I made a big change from blonde to dark red and I have never had more compliments on my hair! I look forward to my appointments with her and love the staff dogs that frequent the salon. Parking is free too!

I am in my sixties, and Heather has been my hairstylist for many years. During this time, she has made sure, that my cut is stylish, and that my colour looks healthy and beautiful.She is a great hairdresser, that has a way of putting you at ease and takes care of you in a way, that shows she really cares. I would highly recommend her and I look forward to my next appointment.

I have been looking around for a hairdresser since moving back to Calgary. I thought I had found one. I went for a highlights and cut. Well, the color was not what I wanted nor do I feel that I was listened to. I said that I wanted when people look at me to see blonde. What I got was something very different. A dark brown on a really really dark background. It looked hideous. And the cut? It was a hack with no attention paid to my cowlicks and double crown which I pointed out. Also, since this was a first visit, you might expect a conservative approach no way! Then, when I asked for a color correction it was going to be $200 more after I had already paid $319 for a horrible and unsatisfactory job. I am not sure whether the hairdresser herself was needing to pay for it or if the owner does not back her stylists but I was shocked! I will never darken their door ever again! These are all my humble opinions but at this place the client is not right. The stylist, Amy argued with me on top of not listening to what I wanted. And then since I was unhappy I also made note of her being late for the appointment with no apology, no greeting and no hustle in getting set up for me either. Never ever again!

What a lovely salon! It is clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. All the staff who were there were friendly and helpful.Amy did such a beautiful job on my cut when I wanted a pretty big change (from very long COVID hair to a much shorter more manageable length). It looks and feels amazing! I booked pretty last minute and my appointment was near the end of the day on a Saturday, so I greatly appreciated Amy’s time and patience. She didn’t rush the work at all, but took her time and did it well.So happy I booked here! Highly recommend.

I enjoyed my appointment with Brook! The salon had a very welcoming feel. Brook made sure I was comfortable the whole time. She was the perfect mix of professional and fun! I was very relaxed in her care and was confident I was going to leave with exactly what I wanted- as I did. I will definitely be back in her chair!
