Dr.Matthew Bujak

Waits in the office are long but that’s what we get with our health care system. I don’t think I can blame the doctor. He’s very knowledgeable and an expert in his field. I felt safe in his hands. He explained my surgery and only suggested what was absolutely needed. The equipment was also top of the line and used some of the newest technology available. You only have one set of eyes. This so the guy to see.

Wonderful experience with Dr. Matthew Bujak. Dr. Matthew Bujak was a wonderful surgeon, and the staff was always helpful and kind. They ensured I had a smooth prep, surgery, and follow-up. After my eyes surgery, visionary I am really enjoying the world, and so glad I was referred to him. I would highly recommend to anyone.

This review is regarding the technician Gurpreet. I was wonder-struck by the way she treated my mother. She explained me the tests with such an empathetic tone that I felt that she treats her patient above all. She was very nervous before her test but she handled the situation extremely well.Dr Bujak is an amazing doctor. He diagnosed my mother in the blink of an eye not like other doctors who keep on sending patients to different doctors.Amazing staff and doctor.

This review is strictly for the brown south asian female working in the office. She is extremely rude, she pushed my grandmas head against the machine so hard a day after she had her surgery. My grandma kept asking her to please let it go, she didn’t listen. Upon making another request she got so mad and said we have more patients. Absolutely unprofessional, unethical and extremely rude behaviour. Hope this will help someone

Dr. Bujak is very knowledgeable and progressional. You can tell he really cares about his patients and is an expert in this field. He was able to get me in for a last minute emergency follow up. The front desk staff are all very friendly too. Clean office area. My only complaint is the really long wait for appointments during the week (around 1-2 hours). Not sure if that’s in their control or our BC health system. But once you’re in a room, the staff is very thorough.

Few problems with this practice:a) Pentagram is 3x more expensive than at the optometrist's clinic that I visit. Already in the 0.1% income bracket yet ripping off people? How much more money do you want?b) Wait times are insanec) Doctor came into the room, sat on a chair and typed something into his computer, then walked out. I didn't even know I am supposed to leave the room until the front desk lady told me to leave. Later my optometrist tells me I am a candidate for glaucoma. Why didn't the Opthamologist tell me this when i was literally at his clinic? Was he worried i might ask questions which means less time to see more patients and bill MSP? Worried income might drop 10% if cannot bill MSP? It's all about money, eh? I am speechless

I had cataracts in both eyes done by him. Very professional and caring. I would definitely recommend him. The staff are wonderful too.

Dr. Bujak prescribed Protopic 0.03% (tacrolimus) ointment to be put into my eyes to reduce redness. This ointment produced great discomfort, so I discontinued using it. Then I learned that both the manufacturer of the medication, and the Mayo Clinic, recommend AGAINST putting Protopic into eyes. So I asked Dr. Bujak to provide me with one or more links to technical articles providing evidence in favour of putting Protopic into eyes. He stonewalled on this request until I said I was considering reporting his conduct to the governing body for his profession. Then he sent me a listing of 100 articles (!), very few of which were actually about putting tacrolimus ointment into human eyes. I sent him a detailed analysis of the 100 articles, asking him why he had not advised me about side effects (which were frequently reported in the articles he sent me). He has not responded. I will not be seeing this doctor again.

I literally put my eyes in the hands of this doctor and I don't regret one bit! He is amazing , he knows what is doing and I can say that a lifetime with glasses now I am glasses free for life!! Thank you dr. Bujack! I definitely recommend this doctor to anyone!! He is the BEST!!!!

DR Bujak is a fine doctor. He knows his stuff. I would have most likely list my right eye totally anffd not just blind. Surrey Memorial emergency sent me home after waiting 4 hrs to see a doctor who really had no feelings at all. Basically said your blind and will be the rest of your life. Had I accepted that answer I would not have met Dr Burjak who came in on a Saturday night to meet me at his office. He was very professional and didn't beat around the bush. He gave me my options and asked me which way I wanted to proceed with. Thanks to him we were able to save the eye except for the cornea which I need a transplant to get my vision back .
