Trevor did some work on an 80s Charvel I bought off of craigslist. He was an excellent guy to deal with, kept me updated and in the loop, charged a very fair rate and overall came across as a really kind and knowledgable guy. I will be going to him from now on for work on my guitars.

I can't say enough good things about Trevor, from working creatively with him to design an instrument, to the finished product, which is absolutely first rate and surprisingly affordable. I am a pretty fussy customer too, with unusual ideas and high standards, and we always enjoy exploring ideas and coming up with solutions. I just recently had a super strat built by Trevor and it is unreal! I consider myself a pretty picky customer, and i made quite a few changes but he was incredibly accomidating and happily worked with me to get exactly what i wanted.I will without a doubt be commissioning another guitar from him eventually.

I participated in a custom workshop with Trevor and was blown away by the experience and his overall knowledge and fun attitude. Trevor was wonderful to work with and provided me with a beautiful guitar, as well as a foundation to continue building guitars in the future. I would recommend the workshop to anyone with an interest in guitars!

Trevor was incredible to work with. He finished a custom tele build for me quickly, and regularly updated me on the status with progress pictures. Quality of the guitar is fantastic. Next time I need a custom build I will definitely be back in contact.Thanks again Trevor

Buyer beware - I ordered a $3026.88 red guitar from Trevor - he had all the time in the world to speak with me until he got my cash. Even after asking him to add more red to the cherry wood stain example he emailed me, the guitar color is exactly the same - dark cherry wood stain - NOT what I ordered.Fit and finish are sloppier than $600 guitars that I own manufactured in China (check out Revelation for really cool options with electronics that actually work!!)***should things not go according to plan when you receive your guitar, Trevor doesn't stand behind his work- his only remedy is to keep your money, while he attempts to get the same price for the returned damaged goods."In other words

I just finished a 4 day build of a Strat which was my retirement gift. What an amazing experience! Trevor was fantastic and coached me through every step of the build, including the specs, the prep, the woodworking, the electronics, and the finishing. I was surprised at how much of the build I did myself, but knew that Trevor would jump in for the very challenging steps. He's great to work with and very knowledgeable! And at the end of the 4 day workshop I brought home an amazing guitar that will give me joy for years ahead. I've played an acoustic guitar for all my life and this is my first try with an electric guitar. So many new songs to learn!So bottom line... This is an amazing experience and a wonderful gift. Attention to detail, very knowledgeable, provides timely and punctual replies and picture updates on project details, accommodating and extremely easy to work with. Trevor has done superb routing work, rewiring and pickup installation, and neck angle/bridge position adjustment work on 4 of my guitars, and I couldn't be happier with the results every time I bring something to him. He also helped me with filing a damage claim for a guitar that was damaged by an airline by providing a very detailed and thorough damage assessment and quote for repairs. I plan to continue to bring guitars to Trevor for regular maintenance, upgrades, custom work and repairs. I have also played several of his builds at his shop and at a few guitar stores and they are beautiful well playing instruments

I approached Trevor of Vigilant Guitars with my latest project: an electric 4-string guitar aka electric baritone ukulele. I needed a strat-style body constructed out of a slab of black walnut.From the first consultation, Trevor was friendly, engaging, interested in what I had planned, as well as full of great advice for what I was going to complete myself. He was very prompt with contacting me with each step to the final product.I was extremely pleased with the result; the workmanship was excellent matching his professionalism. Vigilant Guitars and Trevor were tasked with completing some very extensive modifications to one of my existing basses. The work involved re-positioning the neck (yep, you read that right), significant re-contouring of the neck and body, relocating pickups with subsequent plugging of previous locations, and finally, dressing the frets and refinishing the neck and body. His work and attention to detail shines in every aspect of the instrument. I couldn't be happier and am looking forward to when I can purchase one of Vigilant's original creations!
