MSJ Moving made my move a horrible experience. First they showed up an hour late and the driver was completely unprepared to work. Put the phone away, tie up your work boats and wear pants that fit or buy a belt. The other guy was ready and appeared to want to get it done. I had to help get things out the door as apparently the driver has the strength of a small child. After I helped get the couch out of the apartment and helped get it in the elevator, it took the movers 30 minutes to get it off the elevator and go 40 feet to the truck. In all it took 5 hours to empty a 2 bedroom apartment with a service elevator. Having lived through that painful experience I had 2 friends meet me at my new apartment for the unload. But the movers decided they were taking a 30 minute lunch, which they expected I was going to pay for their time, I didn't. When the movers finally arrived at my new apartment it took me and my 2 friends 1, yes that says 1, 1 hour to unload the truck that took 5 hours to load. Then we get to the time to pay, this company is run by a crook, who wanted payment until 7:30pm even though it was 4pm and we completed the move at 5pm but we would be reimbursed if there was an overpayment. I highly doubt we would ever see our money again unless we went to court for it. We played games until about 5 minutes before the move finished as we weren't paying for the extra 2.5 hours or the 30 minute lunch and in the end the bill was $200 less than what she wanted us to pay at 4pm. But it was about $400 more than it should have been because of the slow workers they provided.In closing, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER even consider using this company for anything and if you see any good reviews about MSJ Movers I call FAKE, FAKE, FAKE.Edit: They also dropped the sub-woofer from my surround sound system and smashed it. They then tied the power cord around it and knotted it to keep it together and never told me. They also broke my carpet cleaner.

Terrible dishonest company! Dont believe the positive reviews, they are obviously fake.They came a day late after keeping me hanging with minimal contact on my scheduled moving day.They took their time with the move repeatedly wasting time, ultimately holding me hostage by keeping 2 items on the truck and expecting to paid for an extra 30 minutes (it was 1:55 and I was billed to 2:30) blatantly taking advantage of my situation.When I called to complain Danielle was completely unintelligible. It was impossible to understand a thing she said. She was totaĺly effed up on something. And shes a crook

We booked a move last minute because we were going to do it ourselves but someone was injured. We did book 5 days beforehand. The day of the move, AFTER they were booked to arrive, I get an email transfer to refund the deposit. I was unsure what was happening, and they did not call or message, so I emailed. They cancelled the move because their driver no showed. Now that happens, but you CALL and tell the customer. The move is for my elderly Mom with MS, and she deserves better treatment than this. Thank Goodness she has a couple more days before she has to leave, or we would be in big trouble. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!! I am disgusted with their behaviour. *edited to add that we were told by another company that many movers were cancelling on customers due to a mandatory move away from a flood zone locally...the insurance company was paying for these moves, so the moving companies cancelled on pre-booked moves such as ours, as they could charge the insurance company more. Don't know if this was the case, but either way, avoid this company!

I used MSJ movers in July 2016, and the service was incredible and honest and reliable - those guys were great.Fast forward 3 years to March 2019 and I decide to go on my past experience which was amazing. I sent a full inventory list of the items in my house, and contacted Danielle who provided a quote. In the quote she states that we will need a 26 foot truck. I know to myself this will not hold my belongings, so I object, letting her know that my belongings would not fit.On the day of the move, when the movers should have been in the area, they are 2 hours away - so they reached late (almost at noon). They pull up and can't figure out among the three of them how to park the truck, and end up damaging my lawn. To my surprise, the truck is rusted and the doors are falling off the truck - my furniture could have gotten tetanus from this truck. I see that the truck sent is a 26 foot truck and when i ask about the size, i am told that they pack trucks for a living, so i need not worry. BTW - I had to rent a UHaul and go back and forth on 7 different occasions to collect the balance of my furniture - so i guess if you do this for a living, you should find another living - clearly you're not good at estimating.They proceed to pack up my stuff, throwing things all over, taking waaay longer than they should have, and damaging my doors, breaking furniture and leaving a path of destruction in their way. They dismantled objects and lost parts of furniture - to this day, I still do not know where the parts are.They arrive at the house and damage the walls, refuse to reassemble the furniture and leave everything assembled until i offered to pay them extra to assemble, but they put everything together really haphazardly and broke so many different pieces of furniture, it's unbelievable. All this time, they are harassing and hounding me for payment for a job that was not done with any care.Danielle is the absolute worst to deal with. I fed the guys and provided them with drinks and coffee and even paid them each $150 extra - but still, they did not care. These people are not to be trusted and will not reimburse you for anything. They hound you for payment for a job that's not finished, and when you complain about the damage they have done to the furniture and the house, you don't get a response from them.DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE FOR YOUR MOVING NEEDS. If it were possible to give them a negative rating, that's what I would give.

Absolutely horrible experience. I booked MJS movers almost a month in advance of my move with a signed agreement. The moving date came (Oct 1 2016)...they were supposed to arrive between 9 and 10am. No one showed up or called. At 10am I began calling and emailing. My calls were not answered. I then sent a text message to Danielle Lee's cell phone. She replied to my message saying that they were experiencing a delay and to give them an additional 15-20 mins. I was relieved to hear back from her. However, another hour passed and no one showed up. I sent multiple text messages asking if they were coming and if I should make alternative arrangements. I never received another reply. So, I was stuck...my place completely packed with no one to help and it was a Saturday. I tried to call reputable moving companies but the offices were closed. I was also completely by myself. In desperation I checked on Kijiji to see if I could find movers last minute. I found a company, they quoted me a specific price and once they had everything I owned on their truck, they demanded more money and would not do anything until I etransferred more money. I was taken advantage of as I was a single woman by myself. None of this would have happened if MSJ Movers would have stood by the original agreement. I am in the process of filing a civil suit against both companies. I highly recommend you do not use this company. They don't even deserve one star, but I can't post the review unless I give at least one. I don't want this to happen to anyone else.

Awful service!My experience with MSJ Moving & Auto Transport was a horror story. I went to pick up my vehicle and was surprised to find it damaged in three areas. They took responsibility for 2 damaged areas but still will not acknowledge that they damaged the front. My vehicle was delivered to them in good repair and had no damage to the front. On top of all this, they do not conduct vehicle inspection in your presence. They said an inspection was done before my vehicle was loaded and I was not even there. Up to this moment, they cannot produce that report for me to view; so shady.The owner and manager are very rude and so are the employees. At the end of this experience, I am left to pay out of pocket to fix something I never did and so take this as a warning to stay away from this place. This was a costly lesson learnt. Stay away!

We made the mistake of hiring MSJ Movers. Clearly their good reviews are made up by employees. We were moving from a 3 bedroom home. Two guys and one young kid (who they hired that day with no moving experience) showed up 2 hours late, in a small truck. It took EIGHT HOURS to load the truck and it was so poorly loaded that only 3/4 of our belongings fit. The truck had to be unloaded then reloaded properly to fit everything!! My husband was so frustrated by the end that he ended up doing half of the loading himself! We arrived to our new home at 9pm - complete darkness and raining. We asked if the movers could leave the truck and come back the next morning to unload - they said no. Finally at 4 AM - yes 4 AM!! - they finished unloading. Needless to say, there were several pieces of furniture that were broken, and the new house was full of mud (They did not take off their shoes). We spoke to the owner of the company on the phone at 3:30 AM and he was non negotiable with the bill, and tried to charge us by the hour!!?? He did not insure the broken items. He was rude and unprofessional. I would NOT RECOMMEND this company to anyone, and will tell everyone I know about this experience. WORST MOVE EVER.

I had the worst experience with these unprofessional people a month ago. They are not honest at all, they changed the payment plan in the middle of the moving, they sent a smaller truck to pick up my stuff and half of my furniture didn't come, they broke all my furniture and other stuff and also they charged me more than other companies quotes at the end of the moving. And also they wanted to charge me more $500 to bring the rest of my stuff. If course I didn't accept it. These guys were very rude, unprofessional, ridiculous and Danielle doesn't know what she's doing in the company. This ridiculous company doesn't deserve any star here. I don't know why they're in the market yet. Please, don't do the same mistake I did hiring this ridiculous people.

This is the worst possible moving company i can ever imagine i booked 2 months in advance paid my deposit was told the crew/truck would show up at 8 am then 9 then 11:15 then 2 then i got can we reschedule" i am not sure what part of i sold my house and new people are moving in they did not understand

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. They didn't show up and then just told me they would return my deposit ... SIX HOURS AFTER THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO ARRIVE TO DO THE MOVE. It was too late to find another moving company because it was past closing time for the offices. Although I got my $40 deposit back after sending many emails, they refuse to answer my requests to pay for the extra costs I incurred because they broke their own agreement! If you hire these guys, you run a high risk of being disappointed and losing money too!
