Best Western Plus Mirage Hotel & Resort

I was up in High Level with my son's U15 hockey team. We told them when we were going to arrive and they had extra staff on to make the check ins go smoothly. They kept the pool open for an extra hour for our boys to have a swim and burn off extra energy after travelling on bus for 6 hours. For our 2 night stay, the manager went above and beyond to ensure that we were well looked after. The continental breakfast was excellent. The 2 team dinners that we had at their restaurant were also great. (Service and Food). They allowed us to sit in the lobby and socialize after the restaurant closed which was also great, so that we could allow our boys to go to bed early and we would not be disturbing them. Job well done Mirage Hotel staff and management. Thank You!

Our hockey team rolled into town late and Mark stepped on the bus before we unloaded to let us know all the rooms had been checked in we just needed to pay up front. Because we were late he had the pool hours extended so the kids could get in before it was closed. Over all a great experience traveling with 19 kids much in part to Mark and his team, thank you!

Last 2 times I stayed at this hotel I had the exact same thing happen. Booked several nights, checked in and got my room card. The next day I come back in the evening and haul my heavy bags up the stairs and down the long walkway to the outside door and find out my room card doesn’t work. The first time this happened I was at the rear of the hotel so had to haul my bags back to the truck and walk around, second time was at the front and hauled my bags to the front desk to get the room card reprogrammed. This same thing happened twice this year.When someone checks in for 4 nights…try programming the room key you give them for 4 nights. I stay in High Level 10 days a month and will go back to my usual hotel where this hasn’t happened once in 12 years.

Great Room, great location, foods good. Apart from, the staff was friendly when booking early in the day.Upon arriving at mid nightthe guy at the front totally rude, second time experiencing this. Not enjoyable/welcoming when you’re traveling a long distance.It’s a great place you get what you pay for.

Would give 0 stars if possible.I made a reservation through Expedia which I cancelled before the cut off.Glitch in expedias website when I cancelled and it did not actually cancel it for some reason.The hotel phones me the day after I was supposed to check in and says I was a no show.I explain I did cancel , they say I need to contact Expedia then. So I didHotel says they still will not refund money.Theft in my mind. Because I tell you they didn’t have to turn anyone away for that night they still got there money.Was a frequent user of best western hotels.Will no longer use them because they are crooks !!***Expedia contacted the property after the cancellation was screwed up. They informed me the HOTEL will not refund the amount. Hence why Expedia can not issue the refund also direct booking with the hotel was a LOT more money than going through Expedia. Maybe match their prices and customers would book direct through you ***

In regards to the hotel service, it was good. happy with the rooms and accommodations.The restaurant which I haven't been to In a few years has seemed to decline. Their food is hit and miss Butter chicken? Fantastic. Stir fry? Terrible. The service was okay.

Overall I like most of the food at the Mirage, it has a really nice interior, super comfy chairs, nice ambiance. I do have two issues with the Mirage however, they have an older male server who is the most annoying server I have ever dealt with, I just can't. 2nd the 'lounge' side of the restaurant is where you will find the comfy chairs and nicer ambiance, its kinda boring and not so comfy on the other side, but that's the only side you are allowed to have people who are under 18. So I find this disappointing, Id probably eat at the Mirage allot more if I could have my teens with me on the fun side, but sadly its not premised.

Stayed here for one night, later-ish dinner with the family. Good sized portions, very delicious food. I had been traveling all week, this meal felt like home!We opted for the three beds suite close to the pool, this was a good choice. Beds were very comfortable, place was clean, but in need of minor touch ups.The free breakfast the next morning was a very good selection. The price was right anyways. The scrambled eggs were kind of rubbery, but everything else was ok. Standard stuff, waffles maker, Bacon, potatoes, yogurt and cereals, fruit, juices, coffee, selection of breads and pastries, etc.The kitchen manager was constantly popping in on guests, super friendly to my kids.The only complaint I have is that they don't have any rooms with king sized beds. We made it work, but this would have given five stars if it was an option.Oh yeah, the pool. Great for smaller kids, teens would grow bored quickly. When we were there a young kid went down the waterslide who could not swim and at the bottom the water was too deep for him. There is no lifeguard on duty. Suddenly the kids dad jumped in the pool fully clothed to rescue his kid. The kid was not drowning, just really scared. Hero move on Dad's part, but stress no one needed. Hot tub was large and a good hot temperature, probably at least 103, maybe hotter.Would we go back? 100% Would make a good weekend shopping trip get away, down after work Friday night, shop Saturday, home that night.

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in while in northern alberta for the price. The staff are amazing, the food is UNREAL and the rooms are always cleaned to perfection. I can't say enough about this place, I'm staying again tonight and am looking forward to it. Blows every hotel in this town out of the water.

Rooms are what to expect when staying at a Best Western so nothing to complain about. Rooms we very clean and service was great. This review is more directed to the Restaurant on site. I just ordered the 10oz steak and some wings for room service. Il start with the steak. It was a great cut, cooked perfectly. Exceeded what I was expecting. Now for the wings. These were the best wings iv had in a long time. I consider myself a wing connoisseur and these were some of the better wings iv had in a very long time. They say best wings in town and I believe them. Hats off to the kitchen staff on my meal tonight.
