Mac's Shacks Waterfront Cottage Rentals

This place is truly amazing. It's like home away from home. It has all the amenities for normal living. We have been going here for a few years now and may never stop. Let the pictures tell the tail. Don't be shy to rent here. You will have a blast.

We went to Macs Shacks and had a great weekend in November. We took our Side by Side along and took in some of the beautiful Bruce Peninsula trails. The hot tub was enjoyable after a day of riding. The dock lends itself well to fishing, even though we didn't catch anything the kitchen is well stocked and we were able to cook delicious meals. Some of my wife's family was there also and we had a great time hanging out on the comfortable furniture and outside on the many available Muskoka chairs. All together we had a great trip with the sibs and a few good rips.

Had a wonderful time there and hope we will visit again. Great accomidasion and very clean. My three year old daughter had lots of options for having fun and enjoy the place.

We had the opportunity to stay at the “look about” at Mac’s Shacks in November 2020. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. There are 4 cottages available and our group used the entire waterfront facility. The cottages are stocked with everything you could need, especially in the kitchen! The beds are comfortable, the shower was huge! There are long views from the “ look about” upper deck with loungers and furniture to enjoy your Nespresso coffee. The 2 hot tubs outside were a great way to end a day on the many near by trails. The sunsets were stunning over the water. I would highly recommend this place for family gatherings. It’s a great place for small groups to have their own space but plenty of room in the “Huron” main building to gather together. Good times!!

had a chance to spend a week here this august, while I agree grounds are great to look at, more could be used around the place to stay on top of the multitude of cobwebs and bugs(cottage had ant problem), just leaves it feeling little bit neglected. the lack of A/C, and internet that is YEARS behind even dial-up could be deterrent for some, especially on heavy rain days or those with young-ins/teens. Cottage felt damp and wet like sleeping in a tent. Broken/unrepaired hottub for main area while mostly working, for the price, should be tip top condition. peaceful though, really quiet. probably not worth the price all in all. If not for the great company staying at other cottages, would have been dissapointing

we were here last year labour day long weekend (2015) and had an excellent time. the cottages are spectacular. Comfort of your own home and so organize. we only have to worry is the food we need to eat. The people who takes care of the cottages are so accommodating as well. Would highly recommend.

UNRESPONSIVE host. She asked for our information and we never heard back from her. I sent her a message to help me to find the “agreement form and guest list sheet”TWICE but didn’t get any response! If you cannot accommodate your guests, at least TELL your guests and don’t leave them hanging like what you just did to me and my group.

Very well appointed and maintained cottage what with the decor, comfy beds, linens, all the kitchen equipment, and outdoor activities. Lovely sunsets and sheltered bay to play in. Shared outdoor area means you can get to know the other cottagers on site, e.g. around the fire pit or the hot tub in the evenings.

We rented these cottages for a few days this summer. First of all the view is fantastic, you are right on the water and a few steps away from great boating. The fire pit at night is very comfortable and a great place to sit and relax by the fire. The hot tub is top notch and when the water is cold is probably the best place to sit and relax. The ruins are all clean and well maintained. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and whatever you need, just bring your own food and enjoy. They also provide you with plenty of legal costs and kayaks, there is also a canoe if you feel like it.
