Just bought a Prestige guitar. It is currently the best guitar that I own, based on sound, for sure, but also appearance, feel, and quality of workmanship.I love the rest of my guitars, which are all classics, but the Prestige just has a shimmer to it that none of the others can match.

I was actually quite disappointed with the tune up for my acoustic guitar and the customer service at their shop. The action was okay afterward but the B-string still had an obvious buzz. I didn’t pick the guitar up myself and only realized it a day after. They also put on different strings than I had asked for and charged for putting in a new battery although I hadn’t asked for that. Also, they never called me when it was done. I called after four weeks of not having heard from them. Perhaps they didn’t care too much because it is a lower quality guitar?

Sent my Taylor Solidbody Standard in for repair and refresh. Rob took great care with it and did a fine job setting it up, polishing it up nicely and fixing the broken pickup selector. What really impressed me is he researched the model (not easy since it's been out of production for a while) and even checked with Taylor themselves for ways to further lower the action. He was quite swift about it as well and I got it back earlier than expected, which is always a nice surprise. Great job, thanks! Also, their intimate showroom in North Vancouver is gorgeous, worth checking out if you happen to be nearby.

It's probably a cliche to say that small boutique shops make better Gibsons than Gibsons, but the guys in Prestige does. The NYS Deluxe I got from them is the best archtop and P90 guitar I've ever played, and what a beauty it is. These go for half the price of Gibson equivalents, and for one fourth the price of Custom Shops you'd get the same level of personal attention, dedication and after-sale service. I've never bought a guitar brand new, but for a Prestige guitar the sticker price is worth every penny. Please support your local mom-and-pop shop. Mike is a great representative for the brand - he'll give you fair trade-in deals, is super nice, and will tell you interesting things about the guitar making business. They also do stuff like fretwork, finish work and other kinds of luthier service even outside of their guitar lines, so that's also super convenient.I will be back for a second guitar.

The best. It’s one of those places/products where “if you know, you know”. Mike is extremely knowledgable, honest and creates amazing guitars that punch way about their price point. As a studio co-owner, there are many times over the years i’ve busted out my DC Coupe Ace and Musician Pro DC just to have clients wow’d by their tone, playability, tuning, build quality etc. As a studio engineer, all these things are priceless in regards to running a smooth session and creating return clients.Chris Lemky is the tech there and we’ve been taking all of our guitars to Chris for years. He’s the best in town, period. Fast turn around with honest and efficient work. His setups are killer. He’s a player first and that is obvious through his work.Do yourself a favour and get in there STAT.

Amazing! Had my bass setup by Chris, best service I've ever had. Normally the place I take it to just intonates , changes the strings and that's it. Chris went above and beyond, found an issue with the neck and fixed and cleaned everything. My bass hasn't played or looked this good in years! Highly recommend, and will only be going here from now on!

Don't have the good fortune to own one of their guitars yet but I plan to collect a few when the bank account allows. Their shop is nice and the staff is super helpful. Superb local guitars. Way better value and bang for your buck than the big brands.

July/2016 I bought a Prestige Eclipse Koa Koa from Mike at Prestige after phone conversations asking questions etc.. First impressions when it arrived were obvious quality throughout and very opened sound that is normally found in guitars played for several years. Koa gives a brighter tone and this guitar was no exception . Not overly bright at first but enough that some would not find it pleasing. It came with John Pearse 600L strings which after trying many makes and gauges on it over time I found the Pearse the best for this guitar. Over the years the guitar has opened up nicely but the brightness became annoying with unwanted overtones that sounded metallic or tiny in tone. Not the guitars fault but rather the nature of Koa wood in combo with bright strings . I was at the point of selling the guitar because of it but then began a search on what strings work better and eliminate those overtones. After that search I ordered a set of Ernie Ball Earthwood 80/20 strings .012- 054. Finally after nearly 4yrs I found a string that makes this guitar perfect tonally, rich and full and the bonus is they are $7.20 a set. These will kill warm guitars that don't resonate as much as the Prestige. Reviews were mainly good on these strings and justly so. The Phosphorus Bronze EB would be warmer than the 80/20 but for now I really like the tone these provide. Finding the perfect string for any guitar takes time which could be years as it was for mine but well worth the effort. I highly recommend to all try a Prestige guitar and compare it to the far more expensive well known makes because you might find as I have they equal or surpass those others. After 51yrs of playing guitar, teaching guitar and performing I think my opinion has merit after owning and still own some of the best guitars made.
