Within the first 3 months of owning the boat, I've forked out $1500 on the motor alone. Carb needed to be changed, voltage regulator and more. I expect there to be more. My advice to anyone looking to purchase, find out what is included when purchasing it. Have a mechanics report done, compression test, etc. Ultimately, I can only blame myself. It's a very expensive lesson to learn.
